A Tribute to Senator Kennedy, A Smack Down of Mitt Romney

A DNC tribute to the late great Senator Edward Kennedy (D-Mass) — using clips from Rommey’s losing 1994 campaign against Kennedy for the Senate. This amazing smack down highlighted Mitt’s duplicity, which knows no bounds.

Multiple Mitt ran against Kennedy for the Senate, and not much has changed since — with the exception of Romney’s views every other day. Mitt’s Etch-A-Sketch must be schizophrenic by now. - FreakOutNation

Slate Set For Democrats At Monmouth Convention

This Thursday night the Monmouth County Democrats will be gathering in Keansburg to nominate their slate of candidates that will be running for office this November.

The only choice that delegates at the convention will be asked to make, will decide who to gets the Party nod in the 4th Congressional race to take on Rep. Chris Smith. Red Bank Attorney Patricia Bennett and Spring Lake businessman Brian Froelich will be looking to gain delegate support in that race.

So from top down, it seems that the slate of candidates will be as follows after the convention:

POTUS - Barrack Obama
US Senate - Bob Menendez
4th Congressional District -  Patricia Bennett or Brian Froelich
6th Congressional District - Frank Pallone

Monmouth County Freeholder - Kevin Lavan (Hazlet), Bill Shea (Howell)
County Clerk - Michael Steinhorn (Rumson)

Those seeking County office shouldn't be a mystery to convention delegates, Freeholder candidates Kevin Lavan and Bill Shea, ran last year. Lavan ran for State Assembly in the 13th District and Shea for Freeholder, while Michael Steihorn charmed many in his bid for County Surrogate last year.

2011, Buh Bye!

posted over on Youtube by JibJab

From Charlie Sheen's #winning tweets to the debt ceiling crisis and global protests, it seems the whole world went nuts in 2011. Join us as we reminisce about the most notorious moments of the year in our 7th annual year in review... this time sung by a popsicle stick puppet choir!

2011, Buh-Bye! Lyrics

Two Thousand Eleven was hairy,
A year unlike any we've seen.
There were Schweddy Balls from Ben & Jerry,
And a warlock assassin named Sheen! Winning!

Lohan!
Strauss-Kahn!
Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Cain-
THREE 9s!
Big Trials!
Love Childs!
Two Thousand Eleven, buh-bye!
AGHAGHAGHAG!

The S&P blew up our rating.
The job market stayed in a slump, a slump.
The debt ceiling kept us debating
While Weiner just tweeted his junk!

Tax more!
Class war!
I nearly got hit with a pie!
Banzai!
Health threats!
Greek Debts!
Two Thousand Eleven, buh-bye!

The whole Arab world was rebelling.
So long, Moo-a-mar Ka-da-FAY!
While soldiers were asking and telling...
We told the whole world, "We're not gay!"

We finally took out bin Laden.
Japan had one hell of a year! (A year)
There were riots in Britain --
How rotten!
The rapture!
Not yet, but it's near! (Next year)

Got hitched!
Got ditched!
Got knocked-up,
Went bankrupt,
We unsubscribed!
Hairspray!
Friday!
Two Thousand Eleven, buh-bye!

There were Occupy Wall Street protesters,
And folks who will surely be missed,
Falling satellites!
Panicked investors!
There's just way too much stuff to list! (To list)

Quakes!
Crimes!
New signs!
Loose Lions and Tigers And Bears (Oh my!)
Let's cheer the new year!
Two Thousand Eleven
You're ending -- Thank heaven!
Two Thousand Eleven, BUH-BYE!!!

Barack Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize

New York Times

OSLO — In a stunning surprise, the Nobel Committee announced Friday that it had awarded its annual peace prize to President Obama “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

“He has created a new international climate,” the committee said in its announcement. President Obama’s name had not figured in speculation about the likely winner until minutes before the prize was announced here.

Likely candidates had been seen here as including human rights activists in China and Afghanistan and political figures in Africa.

The committee said it wanted to enhance Mr. Obama’s diplomatic efforts. “We are awarding Obama for what he has done,” the committee said. “Many other people and leaders and nations have to respond in a positive way” to President Obama’s diplomacy.

The announcement noted the special importance the committee attached to President Obama’s vision of a world without nuclear weapons. “Obama has as president created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play,” the committee said.

McCain camp: Obama needs $200 million to ‘keep pace’

The hill.com is reporting that Republican presidential candidate John McCain’s campaign said in a memo Thursday that, in order to “keep pace” with the Arizona senator, Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) would have to raise $200 million between now and Election Day.
McCain’s camp argued that, with help from the Republican National Committee (RNC), it has more resources than the Illinois senator.

I think that this maybe wishful thinking and an attempt by the McCain camp to get Obama to start spending money early inorder to level the playing field.

It's Not Even Close: Obama Should Pick Clinton for VP

RealClearPolitics's Bob Beckel wrote an opinion piece that was posted on Yahoo, that lays out his reasoning as to why Hillary Clinton should be Barrack Obama's choice as a running mate this fall.
It is a well reasoned article and I happen to agree with it.
I feel that the Democrats should field the strongest possible team, by including Clinton on the ticket it would accomplish just that.
