New TOMSA service fees on July 1

by Linda Baum

The charge for residential sewer service is increasing from $70 to $75 per quarter effective on July 1, 2014. The commercial service rate is also increasing, from $4.67 to $5.00 per 1000 gallons. The increases are per Resolution 32-2014, adopted at TOMSA’s April board meeting, and are expected to bring in an additional $520,000 in revenue annually.

Reminder: Residents with an automatic bill payment setup may need to update the amount of this recurring charge.

Since the TOMSA fees don't increase often, I guess we will take this 7% increase. After all, TOMSA has not made its annual $380+ contribution to the township in a couple of years.

Current charges on the Sewage bill from 5/1/14 to 7/31/14 read $70.00.

Still the lowest in Monmouth County and I believe 2nd in the state so not a big deal at all. TOMSA has done a great job and living next to this location, they did a great job during Sandy for the town. We can all thank them for not having the same and much publicized issues that many other towns had during that storm. As a resident, a big thank you TOMSA

Township and TOMSA financial documents, available on their respective websites, show a municipal contribution for each of the last four years, 2010-2013.

TOMSA said the change was effective July 1. That's all the info I was given. I assume they mean bills that are mailed out after that.

Must be, Linda, because the current bill for April,May and July is just $70.00. Did you check your own bill ?

Not everyone is on the same quarterly billing cycle. July 1 is the start of the quarter for some, mid quarter for others. That's why there is a start date and not a start quarter. How TOMSA chooses to implement this is up to them. If you want more info about your own bill, contact TOMSA.

Do they need some new recliners down there?

Maybe the need is for money for health benefits that are costing more for freeloader politicians that occupy the recliners .......
