Madden NFL 18 - Super Bowl 52 Prediction - Patriots Vs Eagles

For the past 14 years EA Sports' Madden NFL video game, has been running game simulations to predict the out come of the Super Bowl. These game simulations have been uncanny in predicting the outcome of these games, having predicted the correct outcome 10 out of 14 times.

For Super Bowl XLIX, played three years ago, Madden NFL 15 not only predicted that the New England Patriots would win the Super Bowl, it predicted that they would come from behind in a last minute comeback to defeat the Seattle Seahawks by a score of 28-24, which was correct.

It also predicted that:

• The Patriots would score first - Correct
• Tom Brady would win MVP - Correct
• Tom Brady would have 4 touchdown passes - Correct
• Julian Edelman would catch the game winning touchdown - Correct

Madden NFL 15 other amazingly close game day stats included:

• Tom Brady would pass for 335 yard (he throw for 328, 7 yards shy of total)
• It was only 3 yards and 1 catch away from perfectly calling Julian Edelman’s entire game.
• Halftime score 17 - 14 (game was actually tied at 14)

The Madden 15 game simulation was the most detailed and amazingly accurate one of all time.

Last year, Madden 17 once again predicted correctly the outcome of the game when it went out on a limb and said the Patriots would mount a last drive, come from behind victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

How close will this years prediction be? We'll have to watch the game to find out.

Christie Admits To Being a Dallas Cowboys Fan

Here is just one more reason not to support the reelection bid of Governor Chris Christie - Christie admitted yesterday that he isn't a New York Giants fan, but a Dallas Cowboy fan!

How can any self-respecting  NY Giants, NY Jets or for that matter, a Philadelphia Eagle fan, support a man who roots for the Dallas Cowboys ? It's just about impossible to do so.

Funny, he seemed to be a huge fan of the Giants down on the field after the Giants beat the New England Patriots after Super Bowl XLVI.

Talk about being an opportunistic politician...

Outspoken New Jersey governor Chris Christie may have to watch his words on a number of issues, but he made his allegiances clear in his NFL affiliations yesterday. Although Christie is the leader of the great state of New Jersey, he admits he;s not a fan of either team that calls the Meadowlands home.

"It is not the New York Jets … and it is not the Philadelphia Eagles," Christie said to ESPNNewYork.com. "Get ready now. My favorite football team are the Dallas Cowboys … which by the way is not the smartest thing for the Governor of New Jersey to want to be is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys."

Politically, rooting for the Cowboys is not the most savvy if moves when two other professional teams play in New Jersey. Even if Christie was a Jets fan, he could at least have a justifiable excuse. As a Cowboys fan, he comes off as a bandwagon football fan who grew up nowhere near Dallas, but fell in love with the likes of Troy Aikman and Emmett Smith during the mid to late 1990s.

In fact. Christie admitted that the success, or lack there of, of both New York football teams during his childhood played a major role in which team he chose to root for as an adult.

"The Giants and the Jets pretty much stunk when I was a kid," Christie said. "And my father was a Giants fan and I used to remember watching him when I was eight, nine-years-old. Every Sunday, he would watch the Giants and yell at the TV set. I used to think to myself, why would I want to root for a team that makes you angry? So I decided not to and the Cowboys were really good back then."

If Christie had remained a Giants fan, he would have saved himself a great heartaches over the last several seasons. Instead, in the past couple of years, he's called the team the "New Jersey Giants" and even picked the Jets to defeat them, and now he has to hope his non-political affiliates do not effect his upcoming political aspirations.

NFL Week 4- Princess Takes the Giants

Princess the Camel is on an impressive roll prognosticating NFL winners and losers this young season. After predicting the Oakland Raiders to upset the heavily favored NY Jets last Sunday, Princess has start off the season with 3 winners.

This week Princess has decided that the NY Giants are about ready to start on a roll of their own, she has chosen them to beat the Arizona Cardinals out in Pheonix this Sunday.


"I think the Giants finally got things straightened out John. The defense got it done last week and Eli only threw the balls to his own teammates, not the other team. So he might be on a roll." Princess said after revealing her choice to her handler John.

Being a Giants fan myself, I love Princess pick this week. I hope her 3 week winning streak as well as the Giants 2 game winning streak is extend Sunday.

The Giants certainly put a lot of critics to rest last week with their win over the Philadelphia Eagles it would be a real shame if they lost this game to the Cardinals and let all the naysayers and doubters return.

Remembering John Adler

I admit I'm a little late in wishing my condolences to the family of the Congressman John Adler who past away yesterday. There has been many fine pieces written about Adler since his passing and I don't really have much to add.

I met him once by chance, a couple of years ago when he was running for congress. I was spending the a spectacular day down in South Jersey with the family when I ran into him pressing palms and working the crowd at the Chatsworth Cranberry Festival. I didn't know him from Adam and told him I was Middletown. That didn't seem to matter to him, he was polite, cordial and a pleasure to speak to. Only afterwards when I got home and googled his name, did I realize he was a rather prominent and highly thought of member of the NJ State Senate.

When he went on to win his congressional seat later that November, I thought it was pretty cool bumping into him the way I had because I seriously didn't think he could win his district. The seat was held by a string of Republicans for as long as anyone could remember and was considered by many, to be a very close toss-up between him and his opponent.

Sadly he lost his bid for reelection last year to former Philadelphia Eagle football player John Runyan in a another very close race. It's even sadder to know that he lost his life a few short months later.

NFL Championship Sunday Predictions

Here are my predictions for the NFL's NFC and AFC Championship games, the winners of which will meet in the Super Bowl on February 1st.

Eagles vs. Cardinals

As stated last week after the game against the Giants, I feel that the Eagles will move onto the Super Bowl with a 24 - 19 victory over the Cardinals in Arizona. However, if Kurt Warner has great game and does not turn the ball over, I can see the results being reversed.

Steelers vs. Ravens

Jersey Joe Flacco's story book year is over after this game. The Steelers have beaten the Ravens handliy twice already this season and I see no reason to think otherwise here. Big Ben will do just enough to NOT lose the game and let the Pittsburgh defense control the game.

Steelers 23 Ravens 13

It should be an all Pennsylvania Super Bowl this year.

Eagles and Cards Play for NFC Championship

Eagles Soar to 23-11 Playoff Win Over Giants

For all of you Eagle fans, as much as it hurts, here you go.  Enjoy.

The Eagles beat the defending Super Bowl champion Giants, 23-11. Eagles' quarterback Donovan McNabb accounted for two touchdowns in the victory. The win was the Eagles' second over New York at Giants Stadium in two months.

So Much for Princess....

Well, so much for Princess the pronosticating camel of Popcorn Park Zoo.

As everyone is by know well aware of, Princess predicted a Giant victory over the Eagles in their NFL Divisional playoff game today.

 Needless to say, many Giant fans (myself included) took her prediction as a good omen. After all, Princess's  record at predicting games this year stood at an outstanding 15-3 before today.

Unfortunately for Giant fans Princess got it wrong.

The Eagles soared over the Giants to a score of 23 -11 and wont stop flying until they touch down in Phoenix next Sunday to play the Cardinals in the NFC title game, the winner of which plays in the Superbowl February 1st. 

Kudous goes to the Eagle, today they were the better team and now have to be favored over the Cardinals to make it to the Superbowl.

Prediction for next week:

Eagles 24  Cardinals 19 

(just don't quote me on that, my record for picking winners this season terrible!)

 

 

The Geographic Midpoint between Eagles and Giants country

The Star-Ledger asked the age old Eagles-Giants question, "Where is the exact center between Philly and New York City?" The answer: a tiny cul-de-sac in Plainsboro - in someone's back yard. Brian Donohue of Ledger Live had to see this geographic monument for himself.
