If you are a Middletown homeowner, you may be eligible for a home rehabilitation grant/loan of up to $25,000 from the Township’s Home Rehabilitation Program funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. This program is exclusively for low- and moderate-income households to repair or replace older systems in the home such as plumbing, heating, roof, or electric. Handicap accessibility improvements are also eligible.
The Community Development Department staff will be holding a meeting for interested homeowners to find out more about the program on Tuesday, December 16, 2014, at the Middletown Library-Main Branch, located at 55 New Monmouth Road, at 3:00 PM. Applications will be available at the meeting. FY2014 Household income limits are as follows: 1 person $44,750; 2 people $51,150, 3 people $57,550, 4 people $63,900, 5 people $69,050, 6 people $74,150, 7 people $79,250, and 8 people $84,350
If your home was damaged by Superstorm Sandy, these funds may not be used in combination with other funds received for the cost of repairs. Home Rehab grants/loans MAY become available to Sandy damaged households under certain, very limited circumstances. 2012 Swim Club Registration Underway
Middletown Township is now accepting 2012 membership registration payments. The Middletown Swim Club will be operated by the New Jersey Junior Titans Hockey Team effective Summer 2012. Tennis will not be available. We are dedicated to making this a Club you will be proud to be a part of and will enjoy for many summers to come.

Last year’s members will receive FIRST consideration in RESERVING the Bathhouse or Cabana they rented in 2011 provided their application is received with FULL PAYMENT by April 30, 2012. Please be sure to return your application in a timely manner. Any application received after April 30will be on a first come, first served basis.
At this time registration is accepted by postal mail and in-person at the Recreation Departments Administrative Office located at 900 Leonardville Road from 9 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The next phase of water main construction on Middletown-Lincroft Rd will began April 2, 2012. The roadway will be closed between Dwight Road and West Front St beginning on Wednesday, April 4th between the hours of 7am and 5 pm. Drivers should follow the posted detour or plan alternate route.
Park Avenue BridgePlease be advised that Park Avenue will be closed to vehicles next week, 4/9 to 4/13, during working hours. Monmouth County’s contractor will be finishing up work at Bridge MT-12.

Please don’t place material at the curb earlier than seven days before a zone’s start date as doing so creates a hazard for pedestrians and drivers. Leaves, tree stumps, lumber, plywood, fence posts, railroad ties, or garbage will not be collected.
Leaves will not be collected until Fall 2012. Residents or their landscapers can bring leaves to the Recycling Center at 52 Kanes Lane until June 1st. Brush is accepted year-round. Also, do not put brush curbside after a zone has been collected. Violators will be charged up to $750 for a separate, individual collection. Monmouth County, in cooperation with North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority, New Jersey Department of Transportation, and Federal Highway Administration, will be hosting two Public Information Center meetings regarding the replacement of Monmouth County Bridge S-17, Hubbards Bridge. The purpose of the meetings is to inform the public of the project status of the replacement of the Monmouth County Bridge S-17, Hubbards Bridge, as well as to respond to any questions you may have regarding the project. There will be a brief presentation of the project at approximately 7:30 p.m. at both meetings. These meetings are being conducted in conformance with Federal and State regulations. The public is invited and encouraged to comment on the project. The public may attend either or both meetings.
Written comments will be accepted through Thursday, May 24, 2012.
