WASHINGTON, DC—In this week’s address, President Obama marked the eleventh anniversary of the September 11th attacks by remembering the innocent lives lost, and honoring the first responders and men and women in uniform who have served and sacrificed to keep our country safe. In the difficult years following the attacks, the United States has come back stronger as a nation, decimated the leadership of al-Qaeda, ensured that Osama bin Laden will never attack America again, and strengthened our alliances across the world. Looking forward, we will continue to demonstrate that the legacy of 9/11 is that no adversary or act of terrorism can change who we are as Americans, and that we will always come together to preserve and protect the country we love.

Senator Robert Menendez’s Statement On Death Of Osama Bin Laden
Washington - Today, President Barack Obama announced that founder of the jihadist organization al-Qaeda has been killed and his body is in U.S. hands. U.S. Senator Robert Menendez issued the following statement:
“As a nation, we may all feel some measure of closure that justice was accomplished. That through persistence and continued perseverance Osama Bin Laden and others were found and held accountable.
Like all Americans, New Jerseyans, never forgot the heinous actions of those responsible, never forgot those whose lives were lost, never stopped asking questions of our government, and never ceased continuing the pressure on the importance of capturing Bin Laden and bringing justice to those responsible.
Although Osama Bin Laden’s demise will not end terrorist threats, his death is a significant blow to the leadership of the al-Qaeda organization and sends the message that the U.S. will find, destroy and dismantle al-Qaeda and other terrorist organizations that seek to threaten the United States and its citizens at home or abroad.
May we all join together in unity, grateful to those in our military who everyday put their lives at risk and sacrifice greatly to protect our nation. Let us be especially grateful to those who put themselves at risk to bring Bin Laden to justice.
My thoughts and prayers, along with those of all New Jerseyans, are with those who lost family and friends on 9/11. Hopefully they can find some solace and a measure of closure today."

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. issued the following statement on the death of Osama bin Laden:
"This is a significant blow against the forces of terror. The most wanted man in the world has been brought to justice. All Americans can take pride in the perseverance, courage and skill of the men and women who serve in the armed forces and the intelligence community. President Obama should be commended for his decisive leadership in the success of the raid in Pakistan. We hope that the death of the mastermind of the 9-11 terror attacks will bring some comfort to the families and loved ones of the victims. This should serve as notice that we will be relentless in tracking down those who attack our country or our citizens."

"At this time, we remember the deaths and injuries that resulted from bin Laden’s vicious attacks on our embassies, ships, planes and the World Trade Center and Pentagon, and the many thousands of deaths caused by the havoc he sowed. Our hearts once again go out to all the families affected.
“Today, America's military and intelligence services demonstrated why they remain the best in the world. Osama bin Laden's removal will not immediately end the threat of terrorism against the United States, but his death represents a crippling blow to the organization responsible for the 9/11 attacks. I congratulate President Obama and the dedicated and brave members of our military and our intelligence services for acting to eliminate this threat to the American people.

Middletown residents describe death of bin Laden as 'awesome'

MIDDLETOWN — A home improvement contractor read Bible verses aloud this morning at the train station in Middletown, where 37 residents lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks.
The news that Osama bin Laden was killed by U.S. forces sparked elation in this community, which suffered the second-worst loss of life in New Jersey during the 2001 attacks by al-Qaida terrorists.
Several commuters used the word "awesome" to describe their reaction to the news of bin Laden's death.
But their enthusiasm was tempered with sadness over the lives of Middletown residents lost in the attacks.
Contractor Mike Lonergan read biblical passages to commuters waiting for trains, proclaiming "the wages of sin is death."
Nearly one-quarter of those killed in the 9/11 attacks were New Jersey residents.

The Onion: '9/11 Conspiracy Theories Ridiculous' - Al Qaeda
Today marks the 7th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of 9/11. I do not wish to make light of this solemn day in our Country's history or to down play the lives of all who died on this day 7 years ago, but I feel it necessary to point out to people the shear lunacy of people that adhere to the falsehoods of the "9/11 Truth" movement.
The 9/11 Truth believers wants all to think that our government was behind the terrorist attacks that day, which is something that I just can not believe in. It just makes no sense and it takes away from the memories of those who lost their live and is hurtful to all that lost family or friends that day.
So, with a heavy heart and the memory of the events which took place forever etched in my mind, I give you this video to watch. Maybe while watching it you will crack a small smile and have your spirits raised slightly at the absurdity to which the 9/11 Truth movement is all about.
