From the Middlesex County Education Association: "New Jersey public schools rank among the best in the country. But new high-stakes standardized tests are now becoming the core of our education system. When everything depends on one test, the test drives what is taught. The goal of helping students grow into creative problem-solvers, critical thinkers and responsible citizens is pushed aside by the focus on test scores. This film seen around the country by parents, educators and others who care about public education sheds light on the invalid use of such tests to judge students, schools and teachers; the consequences of high-stakes testing; and the big money that's involved.

From the film makers: "For decades, standardized testing has been a part of public education. Within the last ten years, however, education reform has promoted even more testing. Test scores, mistakenly viewed as effective assessments of student ability and teacher/school effectiveness, are anything but. Standardized sheds light on the invalid nature of these tests, the terrible consequences of high-stakes testing, and the big money that's involved.”
