In an effort to control excessive growth of waterborne plant life, aquatic herbicidal treatments will be performed at Shadow Lake in June 2015. The herbicide “Navigate” will be applied to approximately 39.5 acres of the 85-acre lake. The approximate treatment area includes the inlet section of the lake near Stevenson Park and extends eastwardly to portions downstream and along the shoreline of Shadow Lake. This aquatic plant management will focus on the control of a highly invasive plant called Water Chestnut (Trapa natans).Herbicide treatments will be conducted in a one-step process as follows:

Residents and property owners bordering the lake and visitors to Shadow Lake will be required to follow the posted drinking water restrictions and water use restrictions as indicated above, and should make necessary arrangements during the restriction period.
