Princess The Camel Picks Steelers Over Jets in Todays AFC Championship Game

Well folks, its been a while since I posted about Princess, the prognosticating camel of Popcorn Park Zoo, in Lacy Township.

Her current record for picking winners this season stands at an impressive 11W - 9L. So far this season Princess has a predicted the outcome of 10 Jets games and has accumulated a mediocre 5-5 record thus far. In the last 3 game against the Steelers (regular season), Colts and Patriots (playoffs), Princess has chosen against the Jets and lost.

For todays playoff game that determines who will play in the Superbowl on Sunday February 6th, Princess has once again picked against the Jets, preferring the Steeler's "Steel Curtain" and it's quarterback Ben Roethlisberger against the high flying Jets and Marc Sanchez.

When asked by her handler John, why she has chosen against the Jets again this week, seemingly out of disrespect for the Jets coach Rex Ryan, Princess had this to say:

"...John, Rex Ryan inconspicuous? He's is about as inconspicuous as a turd in a punchbowl. You wait ... he’ll be putting his “Foot” in his mouth before Sundays game.

Really John, I give the Jets a lot of credit, but I don’t think the they're are going to intimidate the Steelers Quarterback like they did Brady. And big Ben should get the Steelers in position to win late in the game...."

Will Princess's pick this week turn out to be right? If so, than it means that the Jets will be heading home empty handed, for the second straight year after making it to AFC Championship game.

For Jets fans sake I hope she is wrong. After all the local hype over the Jets, if they loose, I think there will be many fans ready to jump off the nearest bridge.

For me personally, if the Jets todays game game against the Steelers, it just keeps me from being bored and disinterested over the next few weeks until pitcher and catchers report for spring train.

Who will it be in this weekends AFC Championship Game? Will the Jets turn on their afterburners and soar towards Dallas and the Super Bowl or will the Steelers drape their famed curtain over the Jets before they have a chance to get on the runway?

As for me, I hope the Jets pull it out but I believe the Steelers will win. Final score 24-17

Princess Picks Jets Over Colts in AFC Championship Game on Sunday

It's been a while since I posted predictions from the prognosticating camel of Popcorn Park Zoo, Princess, December 4th to be exact.

At the time Princess's won- loss record stood at 7-7 and I just couldn't take another prediction of a Giants win that evenually turned to a defeat.

Since that time however, Princess has manage to turn it around and has now amassed a 12-9 record going 5-1 since week 14. During that time she has chosen the Jets successfully 4 times.

So this week she goes back to the well and predicts a Jets win once again. Here's what she had to say:

"Hmmmm, this is a real real tough one... You know how much I like Payton, the best QB to ever play the game....but I think the Jets have caught lightning in a bottle the last couple weeks."

So for all Jets's fans in the area, I hope she's right. It really would be something to have the Jets represent the AFC in the Superbowl after a 31 year run of mediocrity.

A Football Friday Double-Header: Princess Picks Pariots over Jets, Giants Over Falcons

For this week, Princess the Camel is doubling-down and picking picking two teams to win on Sunday after her pick of the Jets came up short in the final seconds against the Jaguars last week.

For some reason Princess's handler John seems to want to stick with local teams this week even though her choices for the New York teams haven't worked out very well so far this season.

In the first of her picks this week, Princess has chosen the New England Patriots to beat the Jets in the early game in New England, then changes gears and picks the Giants to clip the wings of the Falcons as the swoop down into Giants Stadium.

When questioned about her pick's Princes responded " Well, if the NE coach doesn't make any blunders like he did last week in the loss to the Colts they should roll over the Jets. The Giants - I hope they learned a lesson from the Jets and used their extra week off to get their act together and prepare for the Falcons.".

Well Princess, so do I.

Princess's predictions now stand at an even .500 , 5-5 for the season.

Football Friday: Princess Picks The Jets Over The Dolphins

It's week 5 in the NFL and Princess the Camel is on a 3 game win streak with her picks, her record stands at 3-1 so far this season.

Last week Princess picked the Saints to beat of the Jets.

This week Princess reverses course and has predicted that rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez will turn it around by defeating the Miami Dolphins, in Miami, Monday night.

When Princess was asked why she had a change of heart after last weeks dismal game by the Jets and their quarterback Mark Sanchez she had this to say:

"...He's a rookie, John, and entitled to some miscues, I think he'll do much better this week. I don't think he's going to have to do a whole lot anyway. That Jet defense will stop Miami's "Wildcat offense" in it's tracks. The Jets will turn those Wildcats into pussycats..."

Well here's hoping that Princess continues her winning ways and the Jets come out of Monday night's game winners.

Football Friday: Princess Picks The Saints

Could this be a bad omen for Jets fans? Princess the Camel of Popcorn Park Zoo has chosen the New Orlean Saints to remain undefeated this week in their match-up with the Jets.

This weeks game against two undefeated teams is litmus test for the Jets and their fans. How good defensively are the Jets and their rookie quaterback, Mark Sanchez? This week should tell.

The Saints offense high powered offense lead by Drew Brees, is hitting on all cylinders at the moment and their defense isn't to shabby either.

The Jets and their fans have to hope that this years new defense is enough to slow down the Saints and keep the game within reach enough for the Jets and Mark Sanchez to pull it out.

Here's what Princess had to say about this weeks game:

"...John, they're good, but the Saints' offense is passing and running on all cylinders right now. Hey, try not to let the new young Jet quarterback know I picked the Saints, OK?..."

So far during this young NFL season, Princess has a 2-1 record in picking winners and has she has been on a winning streak of sorts lately,picking the winner each of the last two weeks.

Football Friday: Princess Picks The Jets

Princess the Prognosticating Camel of Lacy Township's Popcorn Park Zoo, for her 2nd NFL pick of the season has chosen the New York Jets to beat the New England Patriots in their season home opener at the Meadowlands Sunday afternoon.

This is the second week in a row that Princess has chosen to predict the outcome of a game that has involved the Jets, last week Princess chose the Houston Texans to beat the Jets in Texas.

Fortunately for Jets fans, her first pick of the season turned out to be wrong. The Jets beat the Texans 24 - 7.

Here's what Princess had to say about last weeks failed prediction:

"I knew the Jets and that rookie quarterback were going to be good, but they got good a lot sooner then I thought. Or maybe the Texans graham cracker looked more appealing, or maybe I was just alittle rusty ... it's been 6 months since I've done this. Give me a break."

Lets hope for the Jets sake, that this week Princess returns to her astonishingly accurate predictions
