Groundhog Day 2018: Punxsutawney Phil, "6 more weeks of Winter"

Six More Weeks of Winter!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Hear Ye

Now, this Second Day of February, Two Thousand and
Eighteen, the One Hundred and Third Second
Annual Trek of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club….

Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of
All Prognosticators, was awakened at sunrise from
his borrow by the cheers of his thousands of faithful followers….

In Groundhogs, he directed the President and
the Inner Circle to his Prognostication Scroll, which reads:

Up early this morning
Far from home
Are you searching for
the Phil-osopher's stone?

Well, even my best friends
They don’t know.
Is it an early spring
Or just more snow

My faithful followers,
your hands (and my paws) are getting cold
So here is my forecast
Not lead, but solid gold:

I see my royal Shadow!
Six more weeks of Winter to go!

Happy Groudhog Day: Phil Predicts an Early Spring!

Hear Ye, Hear Ye, Hear Ye

Now, this Second Day of February, Two Thousand and Sixteen, the One Hundred and Thirtieth Annual Trek of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club….

Punxsutawney Phil, the Seer of Seers, Prognosticator of All Prognosticators, was awakened from his borrow to the cheers of his thousands of faithful followers….

In Groundhogese, he directed the President and the Inner Circle to the precise prediction Scroll, which translated reads:

The inner circle goes to great ends
To keep me abreast of latest trends
Down in my burrow I never get bored
Riding on my hover board
And I sure have fun flying my drone
But weather forecasting is my comfort zone
Is this current warm weather more than a trend?
Per chance this winter has come to an end?
There is no shadow to be cast,
An early Spring is my forecast!

ICYM - Staten Island Chuck also predicted an early spring today

Groundhog Day Forecast; Phil Says It Will Be An Early Spring

PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. (AP) — It's Groundhog Day and Punxsutawney Phil has made his prediction. He says expect an early spring.

With thousands watching on Gobbler's Knob in west-central Pennsylvania, the furry rodent emerged from his lair Saturday but didn't see his shadow.

Legend has it that if the groundhog sees his shadow on Feb. 2, winter will last six more weeks. But if he doesn't see his shadow, spring will come early. At least that's what the Inner Circle says — the group that dons top hats and tuxedos on Groundhog Day each year to oversee the ceremony.

Inner Circle president Bill Deeley says that after "consulting" with Phil, he makes the call in deciphering what the world's most famous groundhog has to say about the weather.

Punxsutawney Phil & Milltown Mel Both Predict 6 More Weeks Of Winter

It seems as though the groundhogs have spoken, both the famous Punxsutawney Phil and his less than so brother from Milltown NJ, Milltown Mel, have seen their shadows this morning and are calling for 6 more weeks of winter!

I was really hoping for this winter to end soon, I've had enough already and can't wait for the warmer weather, but if there is any light at the end of this long winter tunnel, it's the fact that Punxsutawny Phil's predictions has been correct only 40% of the time.

Watch the videos below and see how they did this morning:
