Once again there are two NFL Divisional playoff games today. The first game sees the Dallas Cowboy's traveling to Green Bay to take on the Packers at cold and windy, Lambeau Field.
This game is probably going to be the most competitive of the four playoff games this weekend.
Even though it will be cold in Green Bay, it won't be as cold as it had been for other classic January playoff games at Lambeau Field. Normally the weather conditions in Green Bay would favor the Packer but it's expected to be sunny and 21 degrees with a slight wind chill at kick-off.
Aaron Rodgers has a calf injury and the Packers's defense has been beaten up most of the season. I expect Tony Romo and the Dallas Cowboy offense not to be effected much by the weather and be able to move the ball up and down field against the Packers defense rather easily most of the day. The only reason why this game will be close and could go either way however is Aaron Rodgers. Even injured, he's that good.
I hope the Packers pull this one off because I can't stand the Cowboys but I think the Packers will come up a few yards short. Cowboys 28 Packers 24

It’s no longer a secret that Chris Christie’s free rides to Dallas Cowboys football games are paid by team owner Jerry Jones. The real mystery is how much more the governor’s gridiron follies cost New Jersey taxpayers.
In the aftermath of the nationally-televised appearance at Sunday’s NFL playoff game in Dallas against the Detroit Lions, the governor’s staff acknowledged Jones paid for the tickets and a private charter jet for Christie, his wife and four children – and footed the bill for at least two other gubernatorial outings at Cowboys games this season.“Gov. Christie attended the game last night as a guest of Jerry Jones, who provided both the ticket and the transportation at no expense to New Jersey taxpayers,” spokesman Kevin Roberts said Monday.
But what about the travel bills and overtime pay for the New Jersey State Police troopers assigned to follow and protect Christie wherever he goes? And how much do the governor’s travels – official and unofficial, business and pleasure – really cost taxpayers?
Believe it or not, Christie’s staff and the state police say they don’t keep track of the Executive Protection Unit's expenses – and therefore, they say they have no detailed records to release.

Governor Christie was in Dallas last night to cheer on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys, against the hometown New York Giants and schmooze national conservatives in advance of his 2016 presidential bid. While the Governor's Dallas Cowboys won last night's game, New Jersey workers and families have lost big time over the past three and a half years. In Chris Christie's New Jersey, 400,000 residents are out of work, property taxes have risen by 20 percent and middle class families are struggling to make ends meet. Moreover, a recent report found that 25 percent of New Jersey families are poor, unable to afford the basic necessities. New Jersey needs a Governor who will put the Garden State first and tackle the big issues facing the state.

The annual survey by Legal Services of New Jersey found 24.7 percent of the state's population — 2.1 million residents — was considered poor in 2011. That's a jump of more than 80,000 people — nearly 1 percent higher than the previous year and 3.8 percent more than pre-recession levels. "This is not just a one-year or five-year or 10-year variation," said Melville D. Miller Jr., the president of LSNJ, which gives free legal help to low-income residents in civil cases. "This is the worst that it's been since the 1960 Census." And it may get worse: The report warned Census figures for 2012 to be released this month may be higher. Those numbers are expected to show some of the impact from Hurricane Sandy, which took a bite out of the state's economy and destroyed a large amount of affordable housing.

The study, released today by the Legal Services of New Jersey Poverty Research Institute, says that in one of the nation's wealthiest states, 2.1 million people live in households that have a hard time meeting their basic needs. That number grew by about 359,000 during and after the Great Recession and now comprises 24.7 percent of New Jersey residents. Hardest hit is Passaic County, where 37 percent of the residents are poor, followed by Cumberland, Essex and Hudson counties, while Bergen County's rate stands at 18 percent. Even in Morris, Hunterdon and Somerset and other wealthy counties in northern New Jersey, 10 to 14 percent of the residents are poor, according to the report, which is based largely on 2011 data from the U.S. Census Bureau.

Their numbers have increased since the beginning of the economic recession by more than 300,000. The poorest county is Passaic, followed by Cumberland, Essex and Hudson, according to the report. Nationally, the poverty line is defined as about $23,000 for a family of four. But the New Jersey study puts the threshold at double that number because it says New Jersey's cost of living is significantly higher than the national average. The report also finds that children and Hispanics have suffered the most from increasing poverty.

In Atlantic County, the percent of the population living below 200 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) in 2011 was 32.4 percent, the report said. The highest level since 2006 was in 2010 at 33.4 percent. Cumberland County was the second poorest county in the state and reported 37 percent of residents below the FPL in 2011, which was also the highest rate reported from 2006-2011 in the county, according to the report. Cape May County reached 25.9 percent in 2011, but the highest reported was in 2009 at 28.5 percent. Ocean County saw the highest rate of poverty in 2011 at 27.4 percent.

Christie Admits To Being a Dallas Cowboys Fan
Here is just one more reason not to support the reelection bid of Governor Chris Christie - Christie admitted yesterday that he isn't a New York Giants fan, but a Dallas Cowboy fan!How can any self-respecting NY Giants, NY Jets or for that matter, a Philadelphia Eagle fan, support a man who roots for the Dallas Cowboys ? It's just about impossible to do so.
Funny, he seemed to be a huge fan of the Giants down on the field after the Giants beat the New England Patriots after Super Bowl XLVI.

Outspoken New Jersey governor Chris Christie may have to watch his words on a number of issues, but he made his allegiances clear in his NFL affiliations yesterday. Although Christie is the leader of the great state of New Jersey, he admits he;s not a fan of either team that calls the Meadowlands home.
"It is not the New York Jets … and it is not the Philadelphia Eagles," Christie said to ESPNNewYork.com. "Get ready now. My favorite football team are the Dallas Cowboys … which by the way is not the smartest thing for the Governor of New Jersey to want to be is a fan of the Dallas Cowboys."
Politically, rooting for the Cowboys is not the most savvy if moves when two other professional teams play in New Jersey. Even if Christie was a Jets fan, he could at least have a justifiable excuse. As a Cowboys fan, he comes off as a bandwagon football fan who grew up nowhere near Dallas, but fell in love with the likes of Troy Aikman and Emmett Smith during the mid to late 1990s.
In fact. Christie admitted that the success, or lack there of, of both New York football teams during his childhood played a major role in which team he chose to root for as an adult.
"The Giants and the Jets pretty much stunk when I was a kid," Christie said. "And my father was a Giants fan and I used to remember watching him when I was eight, nine-years-old. Every Sunday, he would watch the Giants and yell at the TV set. I used to think to myself, why would I want to root for a team that makes you angry? So I decided not to and the Cowboys were really good back then."
If Christie had remained a Giants fan, he would have saved himself a great heartaches over the last several seasons. Instead, in the past couple of years, he's called the team the "New Jersey Giants" and even picked the Jets to defeat them, and now he has to hope his non-political affiliates do not effect his upcoming political aspirations.

The Playoffs - Giants v. Falcons for Princess
I don't have to tell everyone what a huge win last weeks victory over the Dallas Cowboys was for the NY Giants, it was huge. The win sealed the division title for the G-men and propelled them into the NFL playoffs. And if you remember back to last week, Princess the Camel predicted the outcome correctly!
For those keeping track thus far of Princess's prognostications for the year, she finished up the regular season with an impressive 11(W)-5(L)record with last weeks win, she is now looking to extend her winning ways into the playoffs.
In the opening round of this years playoffs, the Giants will be facing the Atlanta Falcons at home on Suday in MetLife Stadium. It will be the very first playoff game held in the Giants the new stadium.
So who does Princess the Camel favor in this historic game? The Giants of course!
"...the Giants defense is finally healthy now. Did you see what they did to Romo last week? I felt bad for him and I feel sorry for the Falcons quarterback. Eli to Cruz unstoppable!!! They ought to call it “The Cruz Missile”.", said Princess, not at all trying to hide her glee over the resurgent Giants.
Do the Giants and Princess have what it take to continue their winning ways (until at least next week)? I think so, the Falcons are a team built to play indoors and while the weather may not a big factor (temps in the mid 40's with a chance of rain and possible wind), it may come into play at some point and turn the game in favor of the Giants.

Week 17- Giants v. Cowboys for Princess
Last week's game between the NY Giants and the NY Jets was a must win for both teams in order to keep their playoff hopes alive (more so for the Giants). In all reality, the game was sloppily played by both but should have been won by the Jets if they would have stuck by their game plan to run the ball more and not pass it over 60 times. In the end however, a win is a win and Princess the Camel picked the winner when the Giants shutdown the Jets last Saturday and silencing the mouth of Head Coach Rex Ryan."...Jets coach Ryan said he didn’t come to New York to be anybody’s little brother and he was going to prove that last Saturday. I guess that didn’t work out for him!..." commented Princess
This week it all comes down to the last game of the season for both the Giants and the Dallas Cowboys, the winner of this game takes the NFC East Division crown and marches(more likes limps) into the playoffs, while the loser goes home and watches the playoffs from their easy chairs.
From her sanctuary at Popcorn Park Zoo, in Lacy Township NJ, Princess the Camel has made her final NFL game prediction of the regular season and has chosen the Giants to beat the Dallas Cowboys Sunday night at MetLife Stadium.
"...The Giants and Cowboys, you never know with both of them, good one week bad another, with the Giants it's bad one quarter and good the next...if the Giants can play a whole game of defense like they did in the 2nd half last week they should be okay.", Princess said about the game.
I happen to agree but it won't be easy. It's tough to beat an NFL team twice in one season, especially a division rival that you played only a couple of weeks earlier.
Like any other game, this one will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes and which QB, Manning or Romo, rallies their team more successfully.

Princess Picks Week 14 - Giants v. Cowboys
Week 14 of the NFL season is upon us and Princess the Camel of Lacy Township's Popcorn Park Zoo, is coming off a big win.
Last week she picked the NY Jets to beat the Washington Redskins down at FedEx Field. That pick was in jeopardy going to the 4th quarter, the Jets were down 19-13 to the Skin when all of a sudden, the Redskins imploded by giving up 21 unanswered points in the span of 7 minutes.
For this week's pick, Princess is taking the NY Giants(6-6) over the Dallas Cowboys (7-5), in Dallas on Sunday night.
So what did Princess have to say about her pick?

A win Sunday night will give the Giants a slight lead over the Cowboys in the NFC East, but to ensure a playoff spot they will have to win the rest of their games and beat the Cowboys a second time on New Years Day to guarantee it. It wont be easy but I think they will be up to the challenge.
Let's hope that Princess continues her winning ways this week.

Football Friday: Princess Picks The Cowboys over The Giants
It's NFL week 13 and the Giants playoff hopes hang by a thread, a loss to Dallas Cowboys this week would all but seal the Giants fate.
So it is a bit disheartening to see that Princess the Prognosticating Camel of Popcorn Park Zoo, has chosen the Cowboys this week to all but end the Giants season.
As Princess explains "... things have changed, college teams tackle better than the Giants are now, so how are they supposed to stop the Cowboys running backs? And the Giant offense, they need somebody to wake them up! Hey, how about we plan a road trip, get me up to their practices and I'll shake them up. But unless I get up there before Sunday, Dallas is winning this one..."
Princess's record for this season is once again at .500, W7 - L7
