It was just last week, that acting mayor Kevin Settembrino let it be known that no one but himself speak on behalf of the Township Committee other than himself. But yet, here's Tony speaking out about Township business once again and in the process belittling a resident in the process.
As for Fiore's employer, it has been rumored rather loudly, that they gave him an ultimatum, your job or your politics. Apparently they don't appreciate the way he conducts himself on social media or on the dais. His brash, argumentative and condescending comments to residents is seen as a poor reflection on his employer and they have had enough of it.
From what I've heard, his employer has taken the position that if he wishes to keep his job after his current appointment as deputy-mayor is over, in the future, he will no longer be allowed to serve as acting mayor or deputy-mayor. Further more, they wouldn't take kindly to him running for office again. So his days on the dais appears to be limited.
Evidently, it seems that Tony Fiore doesn't care because here are some screen shots taken just a little while ago of Fiore speaking on behalf of the Township Committee and derogatorily belittling a resident that he disagrees with. Fiore made these comments on a Facebook page for Middletown residents. I'm sure if the moderator of the page didn't turn off the ability to comment on the original post, the below exchange would have very quickly descended deeper into the mud.

Nice! Set the example for our children to see how handle opposing views
in my opinion:: if you can't take it, don't dish it out. This lady needs to work on being a little tougher because honestly if a simple conversation rattles her then what doesn't.

It's not matter of whether or not this person should be able to receive as well as she dishes out. The issue is that an elected official should not be responding in such a way to a resident that he he was elected to represent whether you agree with the resident or not and regardless of whether or not the said resident voted for him or not.
As an elected official you should have a thicker skin and the where with all, to know better than to engage in gutter sludge and name calling with residents.
Nothing new here. Tony has always been crass and thin skinned.
Now he is trying to hitch his star to Trump's wagon with his "fake news" comment just like he worshiped at the alter of Chris Christie by being on "Christie's Team" when Tony was seeking election and Christie's poll numbers were high. He dumped Christie like a bad habit when it was no longer to his political advantage.
BTW Tony, for your edification, even though this is probably too subtle a concept for you to grasp, inaccurate does not equal fake and saying it does makes you sound just as dumb as Trump. (speaking of thin skinned) But I suspect you will stop using the phrase anyway when Trump falls out of favor and you find your next Republican hero du jour to emulate.
For all the money that companies like Prudential pay for diversity and sexual harassment training, I doubt they look kindly on employees referring to any female as "my dear" let alone a constituent. When will Middletown vote in anything but the dregs of the Township to serve on the TC?
The dregs that the Middletown Republicans currently support for the TC and some who serve, all resemble the leeches now serving in the administration in D.C.
Does any one of them have a clue about governing... or will daddy-in-law instruct the lot of them from his perch in Freehold ??????
D.C. is like a nest of cockroaches that come out at night ,slithers around and then retreat into the sewage pit they came from !! Heaven help us. The most corrupt administration ever !!!
