Pallone Statement on President Trump’s Decision to Release Nunes Memo
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 2, 2018
Washington, DC – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) released the following statement on the release of the Nunes memo.
“I am appalled that the President of the United States has declassified intelligence in order to attack and slander dedicated public servants and members of our intelligence community. The partisan memo uses intelligence out of context to distort the truth and push the administration’s various conspiracy theories. I find it disgusting that our President is more interested in attacking the FBI than getting to the bottom of Russian interference in our elections.
“Make no mistake, the release of this memo is an attempt by the President to deflect from the fact that he has obstructed justice on multiple occasions during the investigation into his campaign and administration and Russia. It is an attempt to deflect that multiple members of Trump world have lied about their involvement with Russia and face prosecution and prison time. We cannot allow President Trump to stop the Mueller investigation and various Congressional investigations from finding the truth and I will do everything within my power to ensure that Congress holds President Trump accountable. “
