Letter: RIP Volunteer Alan Ryan
The expressed opinions or views of this letter does not necessarily represent the opinion of the MiddletownMike blog:
Dear Editor,
The State of New Jersey should declare a new holiday in memory of Volunteer Alan Ryan, a Real Irish Republican Army (RIRA) Leader in North Dublin, Ireland who was murdered by heroin dealers in 2012.
Vol. Ryan was murdered by heroin dealers, in retaliation for his Real IRA unit's aggressive actions to rid North Dublin of heroin dealing, frequently raiding and executing heroin dealers.
Vol. Ryan was buried with full Irish Republican military honors and 2,000 attended his funeral. Today, throughout Ireland, from Dublin to Derry, Volunteer Ryan is remembered as a working-class hero who gave his life for a United Ireland and the health of it's youth.
As New Jersey fights it's own heroin problem, our communities can look at the memory of Volunteer Alan Ryan, who despite only living 31 years himself, saved countless lives of young people from the poison of heroin addiction by attacking suppliers.
Volunteer Ryan always made it clear that the heroin addicts were victims, it is the pushers are who must be targeted. RIP Vol. Ryan. Tiocfaidh ár lá.
