“We’re excited to play this festival, especially with the support of JSJBF,” said Bob. “They are the root of blues in New Jersey and we are privileged to have these gigs and play outdoors with great crowds.”

The band, comprised of Bob on guitar and vocals, Alan Lefton on bass and vocals, Kendall Scott on keyboard and Glenn Johnson on drums, represented the state of New Jersey last year at the International Blues Competition in Memphis, TN.
“We competed with 250 bands from all over the world,” said Bob. “We were very happy to be a part of it and it was a pleasure to represent the state of New Jersey.”
The Bob DelRosso Band prides itself on melding the old with the new. They work to take the traditional blues sound and mix it with a modern feel. And playing the blues makes them happy; especially in front a crowd like the ones who come to the JSJBF Summer Series of Festivals.
“You just get lost on stage,” said Bob. “I’m not worrying about anything, not the electric bill or the mortgage, nothing. It’s euphoric, you leave everything else behind but the moment you’re in and the spontaneity, and everything just comes together.”
Bob and the band are looking forward to the Asbury Park event and hope that blues and music lovers alike come out to support the festival.
“We love when people support live music, especially blues music, in the tri-state area,” said Bob. “There are some great bands around here and we all pull for each other. It’s a very friendly, brotherly love kind of community.”
