If you haven't seen it, yesterday Congressman Rush Holt released a new web ad. .In the ad Holt calls for a new "speculation" tax that would raise hundreds of billions of dollars from big Wall Street speculators.The money could then be used for investments in our roads, bridges, schools, energy research, our social safety net, and more.
This ad is the first in a series of ads that will be rolled out in the next few weeks that drive home the message that bold ideas are needed.

For 30 years candidates have been spooked by prevailing conservative dogma that anathematizes "new taxes," so Holt's bold commitment to what would definitely be a brand new tax (even if paid just by the 1%) will certainly have the Wall Street inquisitors looking for the kindling wood to stage an exemplary burning at the stake.
Makes a particularly pointed contrast with Cory Booker, who famously found fault with criticism of Wall Street practices as "nauseating" carping--even when it was Barack Obama who carped!
