Buono Statement on State Supreme Court Decision

New Brunswick, NJ – Democratic gubernatorial candidate and State Senator Barbara Buono released the following statement:

“Regardless of today's Supreme Court decision, Governor Christie’s choice to hold the U.S. Senate special election on a Wednesday in October is still a conscious effort to discourage voter participation. His shamelessly cynical decision is a deliberate effort to confuse New Jersey voters and will cost taxpayers well beyond $24 million. By holding two elections three weeks apart, he is clearly guided only by what is best for him, not what is best for New Jersey. It is just another example of the cynical conservative philosophy that disenfranchising voters is a viable path to victory."
