Cody Is Out Of Governor's Race

NJ.com and PolitickerNJ are both reporting that former governor Dick Cody has decided to not run for governor against Chris Christie this fall.

Cody's decision now leaves Sen. Barbara Buono as still, the only declared Democrat in the race to unseat Christie from his governor's chair.

Cody said:
“After talking with my family, friends and other advisors and weighing the impact of a campaign on my family life, I have decided not to seek the nomination. I want to thank my friends and supporters throughout the state who encouraged me to run and provided counsel during this process.
I will enthusiastically back whomever the nominee is and do all that I can in support. As a senator and governor. I have been a voice for many voiceless New Jerseyans. I will continue to serve in Trenton and seek re-election."

Who if anyone will now step forward and declare their candidacy? Senate President Stephen Sweeney, Congressman Bill Pascrell, someone else or no one at all?

Mike, Dick Codey spells his name with an "e" but you can be excused for the error considering the many Cody for Board of Ed signs that continue to litter the streets of Middletown.
