Monmouth County, partners to connect
employers with seasonal employees

MANALAPAN, NJ – If you are considering getting a job during the upcoming holiday season, you can get a head start on your search from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12 at the Monmouth County Library Headquarters, 125 Symmes Dr.

“Monmouth County’s seasonal job fair is a great opportunity for someone to find the right holiday employment opportunity,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the county’s Division of Workforce Development. “Our area’s top holiday employers are looking for talented candidates to help them through the busy selling season.”

Seventy employment resource organizations, most of whom have retail positions, will be participating in the free event. No registration is required for jobseekers.

“The county continues to provide resources and to respond to the needs of the business community,” said Eileen Higgins, Director of the Division of Workforce Development. “This job fair will focus on this holiday season, but jobseekers can always find out about local employment resources by contacting the One-Stop Career Center in Eatontown.”

The One Stop Career Center is located at 145 Wyckoff Road, Suite 201 in Eatontown. It is where people of all walks of life and income levels can get help finding a job - whether it be retraining or simply advice on writing a resume.
Training is available for those who are unemployed and career counselors can help people who already have a job find a better job. On any given day you will find people using the Learning Link, a room with computers where they can do online training to brush up on their computer skills, reading, math skills or get other tutoring. They can even work toward their GED.

The holiday job event is a partnership with the Monmouth County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Monmouth County Workforce Investment Board, New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Monmouth-Ocean Development Council, Jersey Shore Association of Human Resources, LADACIN Network, and Brookdale Community College.
