Jim Purcell, former publisher of the long running bayshore area weekly newspaper the Courier (1955-2009) and blogger extraordinaire of the old Inside Clamdigger blog is back with a new local newspaper and blog!
Jim will be managing a new monthly paper called The North Shore, that will concern itself only with the 'wet side' (east of route 36) of the Northern Monmouth County Bayshore area : Keyport, Union Beach, Hazlet, West Keansburg, Keansburg, East Keansburg, Leonardo, Port Monmouth, Belford, Atlantic Highlands and Highlands. You can look for the first edition of the paper towards the end of May.
Jim's new blog, the Bayshore Clamdigger, will consist of his personal views and opinions on news, politics and the "Whatever".
I'm looking forward to having him back on the scene and wish him well on his new endeavor, the North Shore.

UPDATE:
There seems to be a problem with Jim Purcell calling his new blog the Bayshore Clamdigger. According to Jim, John Azzolina, the former owner of the Courier newspaper, has laid claim to the words "Bayshore" and "Clamdigger" saying that he owns both. Mr. Azzolina has issued a "cease and desist" against Jim calling his new blog the Bayshore Clamdigger. In response Purcell will call his new blog "The North Shore"

Rt 36 runs east-west, so he would be reporting on the area NORTH of Rt. 36
Gees, everyone's a critic.
Mike,
Route 36 runs west to east from the Garden State Parkway in Eatontown to the shore in Long Branch and then runs north along the shore. You are correct,Jim will be reporting as you stated.
Anony 9:21 is that knit picking pain in the butt from the southern most point of the township that thinks we care about her opinions !!
