SNL Spoofs "IT"

I just can't stop watching. Don't get me wrong, Alec Baldwin is pretty awesome parodying Donald Trump but this is one of the best SNL spoofs in a looong time.

Trump Meets The Honeymooners

This is a fan made parody imagining if Mr. Trump was running for the 1952 Presidential Election. It's pretty funny whether you're a Honeymooners fan or not.

Jabba the Trump & His Slave Christie

My son passed along this cartoon to me. It was drawn by his cartoonist friend, Jim Shaw, and my son thought that I'd get a kick out of it. He was right. I think it's a clever and inventive parody of the apparent Donald Trump/Chris Christie relationship. Evidently, I'm not the only one who thinks so.

Jim's cartoon has gone viral after Star Trek's Mr. Sulu, George Takei, posted it to his very popular Facebook page.

If you wish to see more of Jim's work you can check out his Facebook page Will Draw For Food.

One Term More

"... Jefferson wrote, "The greatest good we can do our country is to heal its party divisions and make them one people." The Founding Fathers wouldn't have tolerated 21st century Tea Party polemics. No matter the nation's crushing ills or deep political divide, the framers chose to govern, not obstruct

Having brought forth a nation conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, you've got to wonder:

Are there any levelheaded Republicans left to remind untethered Tea Party apostles – notably those washed up on the shores of the Potomac – that incendiary rhetoric, hysterical white populism and a reckless disregard for the unalienable rights of others is not a government of, by or for the people?

Misogynistic, homophobic, radically regressive and ideologically unhinged with little apparent interest in governing and no appetite for compromise or common ground, that Grand Old Party's out-of-order, a consequence of preposterous partisan pandering, legislative belligerence…and all that tea.

To the extent any nominal independent expenditure can underscore the titanic distinctions between candidates, parties and platforms – from ALEC-influenced legislatures codifying colossally misguided stand-your-ground laws to muddleheaded McCarthy-mimicking Members of the House calling colleagues Communists – ours will, we hope, attract the attention of an inquisitive electorate and contribute to a more reasoned electoral outcome.

At the end of the day will unruly Republicans simply be too tone-deaf to hear the people sing? We'll know when tomorrow comes." - Don DeMesquita

2011, Buh Bye!

posted over on Youtube by JibJab

From Charlie Sheen's #winning tweets to the debt ceiling crisis and global protests, it seems the whole world went nuts in 2011. Join us as we reminisce about the most notorious moments of the year in our 7th annual year in review... this time sung by a popsicle stick puppet choir!

2011, Buh-Bye! Lyrics

Two Thousand Eleven was hairy,
A year unlike any we've seen.
There were Schweddy Balls from Ben & Jerry,
And a warlock assassin named Sheen! Winning!

Lohan!
Strauss-Kahn!
Mitt Romney, Rick Perry and Cain-
THREE 9s!
Big Trials!
Love Childs!
Two Thousand Eleven, buh-bye!
AGHAGHAGHAG!

The S&P blew up our rating.
The job market stayed in a slump, a slump.
The debt ceiling kept us debating
While Weiner just tweeted his junk!

Tax more!
Class war!
I nearly got hit with a pie!
Banzai!
Health threats!
Greek Debts!
Two Thousand Eleven, buh-bye!

The whole Arab world was rebelling.
So long, Moo-a-mar Ka-da-FAY!
While soldiers were asking and telling...
We told the whole world, "We're not gay!"

We finally took out bin Laden.
Japan had one hell of a year! (A year)
There were riots in Britain --
How rotten!
The rapture!
Not yet, but it's near! (Next year)

Got hitched!
Got ditched!
Got knocked-up,
Went bankrupt,
We unsubscribed!
Hairspray!
Friday!
Two Thousand Eleven, buh-bye!

There were Occupy Wall Street protesters,
And folks who will surely be missed,
Falling satellites!
Panicked investors!
There's just way too much stuff to list! (To list)

Quakes!
Crimes!
New signs!
Loose Lions and Tigers And Bears (Oh my!)
Let's cheer the new year!
Two Thousand Eleven
You're ending -- Thank heaven!
Two Thousand Eleven, BUH-BYE!!!

JibJab Year in Review: So Long To Ya, 2010

The first in what I'm sure will be a long parade of year end reviews by many, JibJab has just released it's "So long to ya,2010" year end review. Like most of the political parody that JibJab produces, it's smart and witty without going to far over the top.

This particular video from JibJab is a little different than others, for the first time producers use puppets in the making of a video instead of their typical animation. It's pretty good, I like it.

New Tea Party Parody Commercial: Dick Armey, Matt Kibbe and FreedomWorks Get Help From Gadfly Actor and Ex-Tea Party Victim D.C. Douglas

For Immediate Release:

Actor and voice over talent D.C. Douglas has, once again, offered to help the Tea Party movement with another video; a commercial for Dick Armey and Matt Kibbe's book, "Give Us Liberty: A Tea Party Manifesto."

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 26, 2010

D.C. Douglas, a veteran character actor and voice over artist, has offered to help Dick Armey and Matt Kibbe sell their new book, "Give Us Liberty: A Tea Party Manifesto," by producing an internet commercial that Mr. Douglas feels captures the true essence of Matt Kibbe and the FreedomWorks modus operandi.

In April of this year, D.C. Douglas became a target of a FreedomWorks effort to get Mr. Douglas fired from his voice over job on a new GEICO campaign. He had upset Matt Kibbe with a sarcastic voicemail message he left on the FreedomWorks press line. Through hundreds of harassing phone calls, FreedomWorks prevailed and Mr. Douglas was replaced. Initially, Mr. Douglas was perturbed. But after some reflection and meditation, he realized he needed to help their movement - not fight it.

A month later, Mr. Douglas produced a Tea Party PSA that went viral and inspired thousands of people to look at FreedomWorks differently. He also gained over a thousand new fans and many other jobs in the process.

"After seeing Matt Kibbe trying to sell his master's new book on Fox News recently, I kinda felt sorry for him," Mr. Douglas confides. "Matt does actually think for himself sometimes, but he has no personality to speak of, really, to express himself. He sorta comes off like Igor asking you to donate your brain to his friend, Dr. Frankenstein. It's a hard way to go through life. And he does seem kinda melancholy. So I decided to pitch in."

Mr. Douglas took out time from his schedule to write and produce a spec commercial for Dick Armey, Matt Kibbe and FreedomWorks to promote their new book, "Give Us Liberty: A Tea Party Manifesto." The commercial went live on August 25th.

"I know they probably won't purchase it from me because they are fiscally responsible. Plus, they need to use most of their funds to step up their grassroots work for BP," Mr. Douglas surmises. "But even my putting it on the interwebs for free is a small stepping stone to their stated goal of taking over the Republican Party in a hostile manner. And since they all have NRA memberships, I expect a huge shoot-out! I am so rooting for FreedomWorks!"

Mr. Douglas' FreedomWorks commercial can be seen on YouTube and his personal blog: http://www.DCDouglasBlog.com.

Mr. Douglas can also be seen as the Captain of the Titanic II in the much anticipated and mocked B-movie, "Titanic II," which was released on August 23rd.

Candidate For RNC Chair Sends Out CD With Song Called "Barack, The Magic Negro"

You would think that after the trouncing the GOP took at the polls in November, where the national ticket lost badly among growing voter groups such as young people, Hispanics and suburbanites that leaders of the GOP would be a little more sensitive than this.

Using race as a divide in order to gain political points is wrong no matter what the intentions of individuals are.

Yesterday afternoon the following story was picked up by  Talking Points Memo. It was first reported on by the Hill  and followed up by Poltico.com just a couple of hours ago.

"If one of the Republican Party's challenges is how to effectively oppose the first black president without coming off as racist, one of the candidates for RNC chair is hardly off to a good start -- he is now distributing a CD that includes a racially-charged song called "Barack, The Magic Negro."

Chip Saltsman, the former campaign manager for Mike Huckabee, has distributed a goodie bag to committee members that includes a CD by Paul Shanklin, a writer of right-wing parody tunes who is often featured on Rush Limbaugh. The "Magic Negro" track, which first gathered controversy in the Spring of 2007, featured Shanklin portraying Al Sharpton as an Amos & Andy stereotype, ridiculing white liberals who support Obama.

Saltsman defended the choice of the Shanklin CD, telling The Hill: "Paul Shanklin is a long-time friend, and I think that RNC members have the good humor and good sense to recognize that his songs for the Rush Limbaugh show are light-hearted political parodies." "
