Santa Is On His way: Track His Where Abouts With NORAD or Google's "Santa Tracker"

It's Christmas Eve and Santa left the North Pole a few hours ago to start making his deliveries but he won't be in our neighborhood for at least another 8 hours.

No to worry thought, if you would like to keep an eye out for him and track his whereabouts so as not to miss him, This year, as in years past, you can keep an eye on where Santa is all throughout the day by checking in on his travels with the NORAD Tracker (NORAD is the bi-national U.S.-Canadian military organization responsible for the aerospace and maritime defense of the United States and Canada). NORAD, has been tracking Santa since 1955 !

You can also use Google's Santa Tracker. Google started tracking Santa a couple of years ago and does a pretty good job of it as well.

Each site is interactive, fun and easy to use. The kids in the house will by kept busy, having a great time playing all the different games and watching videos of Santa's arrivals throughout the world. It's a great way to keep the kids occupied while you do last minute preparations for Santa's arrival.

A great feature of Google's website. Not only can you keep and eye on Santa's where about, there are many interactive games for the kids (or those young at heart) to play while waiting for Santa's arrival. In years past Google allowed you to send a special Santa recorded message personalized for your son, daughter or other loved one. Google would then have Santa personally call or email the greeting to your loved ones. I used it last year to call my nieces, nephews and own son. It was great! This year however, I haven't come across it but I'm still looking.

Santa Is On His Way - Santa Norad Tracker

It may be the morning of Christmas Eve here in Middletown but that doesn't stop Santa, he has already left the North is on the way.

This year, as in years past, you can keep an eye on where Santa is all throughout the day by checking in on his travels with the NORAD Tracker (NORAD is the bi-national U.S.-Canadian military organization responsible for the aerospace and maritime defense of the United States and Canada).

The NORAD Tracker is a great interactive website for the kids to explore, there are a number of items on the website for kids of all ages, to play with while waiting for Santa's arrival.

As an example, there are videos (like the one below) that show Santa leaving the North Pole that give updates to where Santa has been and where he is heading next. Kids can track Santa via Google Earth, a fun interactive play area that is called Countdown to Track Santa, where kids can play fun games while waiting his arrival. There are also tabs to the website that explain all about Santa and NORAD, so the Santa Tracker website is not only a fun place for kids to spend time while waiting for Santa, it is also educational.

NORAD Tracks Santa

Hey Kids,

Santa will be leaving the North Pole in just a matter of minutes, If you would like to track his whereabouts and follow him and his reindeer around the globe in real time, then you need to contact NORAD throughout the day.

The NORAD Tracks Santa Web site is the form of a public relations program by the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) involving the countries of Canada and the USA. Every year for over fifty years on Christmas Eve NORAD has told stories of how their powerful tracking systems such as the Distant Early Warning Line (DEW Line) detected Santa Claus leaving the North Pole to deliver his presents.

Santa will be taking off from the North Pole and making his first stop of the night in Auckland New Zealand at 5:00 am (eastern standard time).

You can check in hourly at the NORAD Santa tracker, to see just how close Santa is to delivering presents to your house.
