Yesterday Govenor Christie was to hold one of his famous Town Hall meetings at the Port Monmouth VFW Post 2179 but due to the big snow storm that was baring down on us the meeting was cancelled and rescheduled for next week. The Town Hall will now be held on Tuesday February 18th.
If you're interested in going to see what the governor has to say you still have time to RSVP. Here is a link from Middletown Township announcing the rescheduled event and instructions on how to RSVP.
As I stated in my earlier post announcing Christie's arrival in Middletown, this Town Hall will be his 110th such meeting that Christie will have held since taking office in 2010. More importantly, it will be the first Town Hall meeting since the Bridgegate lane closure scandal and accusations of using Hurricane Sandy aid money to extract political endorsements from Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer and others engulfed his administration last month.
While we know what Governor Christie intends will be talking about Tuesday morning (Superstorm Sandy relief and recovery efforts) it's what he won't be talking about that will be on a lot of people's mind.
Unfortunately for me, I once again am scheduled to work on Tuesday and will have to miss it. I'm sure however it will be widely covered by the media so I'll hear all about it shortly afterwards.

Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer: Christie Camp Withheld Sandy Aid Over Rockefeller Land Development Deal
If you missed this morning's episode of Up w/ Steve Kornacki earlier today you missed a startling, detailed account of alleged corruption within the Christie administration.
Democratic Hoboken Mayor Dawn Zimmer (a Christiecrat), alleged that Chris Christie and his administration withheld much needed Hurricane Sandy relief aid from the city because she refused to support "a lucrative redevelopment plan favored by the governor".
Zimmer stated that Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and Richard Constable, Christie’s community affairs commissioner, delivered messages on the governor's behalf saying that if she did not support a land redevelopment deal between the Rockefeller Group and the City of Hoboken then Sandy relief aid would not be forthcoming.
You have to watch it all to fully appreciate what Kornacki was reporting this morning and understand why now this may be much bigger news and more damaging to Chris Christie and his political future than anything that may be unearth in the still unfolding Bridgegate scandal.

Community & Political Leaders to Discuss Impact of Climate Change and Extreme Weather on NJ
Event will highlight role of climate change in exacerbating damaging weather events
HOBOKEN, NJ – Tomorrow, Tuesday, July 23, state and local leaders will gather for a press conference at 11:30 a.m. at the Hoboken PATH Station to highlight the impacts of extreme weather and climate change in Hoboken and throughout the state of New Jersey.
Assemblyman Ruben Ramos (NJ-33); Hoboken Councilman Tim Occhipinti and Jeff Tittel, Director of the New Jersey Sierra Club will offer remarks at the press conference, which follows President Obama’s historic action on climate change. The President’s plan includes the nation’s first-ever limits on carbon pollution from power plants, as well as other strategies to prepare America for the effects of climate change.
In October 2012, New Jersey was devastated by deadly Superstorm Sandy – the second costliest hurricane in U.S. history. Just last week, New Jersey suffered from a horrendous heat wave, the latest in a series of extreme weather events in recent years that have included massive snowstorms, droughts, nor’easters and even a tornado. As a result of these and other recent events, 14 New Jersey counties have received natural disaster designations in recent years.

Corzine Expects Hoboken Mayor to Resign By Tomorrow
Corzine, answering a question about ethics reform at a Montclair event, said he expects Cammarano's resignation within the next 24 hours.
A senior Corzine administration official said the understanding is Cammarano is resigning Friday morning.
The move comes amid intense pressure from Corzine, a Hoboken resident, to force Cammarano to step down. Corzine had publicly called for the resignation and privately instructed lawyers from his office to speak with Cammarano's lawyers.
The news was a bombshell at Hoboken City Hall, apparently taking elected officials by complete surprise. Cammarano, who left the building for lunch within the past hour, did not drop any hints.
Hoboken City Council President Dawn Zimmer, who lost a runoff to Cammarano by 161 votes, would become acting mayor if he resigns.
Zimmer said she has heard nothing.
"There's nothing official," Zimmer said.
She said she spoke to Judy Tripodi, Hoboken's state appointed fiscal control officer, who has also not been notified. Neither had Cammarrano's communications director.
Zimmer would have to run in a special election in November to fill the remainder of Cammarano's term.
The 32-year-old Cammarano is accused of accepting cash payments in $5,000 increments from a man he thought was a developer looking for a pay-to-play connection in Hoboken.
