And We're Back From Comic Con....

There were plenty of freaks and geeks present at this year's NYC Comic Con at the Javits Center yesterday.  Tickets for the 4 day event were sold out in advance,  I was luckily to get a few tickets for Friday's festivities.

It was my first time at a Comic Con, but I don't think it will be my last even though the Javits Center was mobbed - to say at times it was asses to elbows packed would be an understatement - but the people were pleasant and the sights had to been seen to fully appreciate it.

Below are some of the pictures I took throughout the day and as you can see there was a lot to look at and expirence. I made it to one panel discussion involving the guys of AMC's Comic Book Men other wise know as the dudes from Jay and Silent Bob's Comic Shop in Red Bank. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures from there but the panel was lively and Kevin Smith was entertaining to listen to.:

The crowd inside the Javits Center was huge

Have you ever wante dto smell like an Avenger? Overall they smell pretty nice considering....

Pixel-Headed Steve of Mindcraft

As you can see it was a great time, I can only image how crazy it will be for the remainder of the convention this weekend.

Monmouth County Library To Host "Kabow!" Comic Con On Sunday September 23rd

("Wonder Woman" Lillian Burry)

"We're excited to be hosting our first Comic-Con," said Freeholder Lillian G. Burry, who is the liaison to the Monmouth County Library and who is an admitted devotee of the DC Comic superheroine Wonder Woman. "Whether you like DC or Marvel comics, Star Wars or amine/graphic novels, there will be something at the Library's Comic-Con for all ages."

Sorry, but I just couldn't pass this one up!

Seeing how I'm somewhat of a comic book geek myself, i'd bet just about anything that until recently, Freeholder Lillian Burry had absolutely no clue who Wonder Woman is, what her backstory was and whether Wonder Woman belonged to the DC Universe or the Marvel Universe cast of comic book heros.

Nevertheless, if I wasn't already scheduled to work that day, I'd be at the Library before it opened letting my inner child imagine what it would be like to really have superpowers while exploring the tables and talking to those in attendance.
