December 19, 2016 Middletown Township Committee Meeting

Monday night's meeting of the Middletown Township Committee was uneventful and understandable brief given the time of year.  Here are the main highlights:
  • A check was presented to the Police K-9 Unit by Luke and Jack Kratz, from Bayshore Middle School.
  • Winners of the house light decorating contest were presented with their awards.
  • Ordinances were passed to add names of veterans to the list of street names, to reorganize the police department and to make a 4-way stop at the intersection of Borden and Pelican Roads.
  • A resolution was adopted to refinance over $23M in bonds and notes.

As always, you can download a copy of the Meeting Agenda that contains the discussion items and the proposed resolutions and ordinances that were voted on or presented during the meeting. A box around an item is a link, bringing you further into the document to that resolution or ordinance. At the end of the resolution there will be a link bringing you back to the agenda. Attached to this agenda is also the monthly bill list, so that everyone can see how the Township is spending our tax dollars.

It seems like this town never pays off the debt. It is always refinanced. Even when a loan is about to be paid off our government body will turn around and refinance the loan. No wonder the debt is greater than the actual budget.

I see that Mrs. Murray is horticulturally challenged, not knowing what a white birch tree looks like.
