Pallone Sponsors Poetry Contest for Local Schools

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 12, 2016

LONG BRANCH - Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) is pleased to announce that his office will hold a poetry competition for local school children as part of National Poetry month. The competition is open to all students in the 6th District and select submissions will be featured by Pallone’s office. Students will also be able to take part in a reading at the Congressman’s office.

“From the time of Walt Whitman, New Jersey has made important contributions to American poetry,” said Congressman Pallone. “It is important to continue to promote the importance of poetry so young people can embrace this legacy and broaden their education. I look forward to reading and hearing the creative and thoughtful poems from students in the 6th Congressional District.”

Interested schools or students may contact Pallone’s Long Branch Office at (732) 571-1140 or his New Brunswick Office at (732) 249-8892 for any questions regarding the poetry competition. Students should make their submission before the end of April.
