Bray Avenue Bridge Construction Notice:

We are pleased to inform you that construction operations to replace the Bray Avenue Bridge (Monmouth County Bridge MT-2) over Pews Creek will soon commence. Lucas Construction Group of Morganville, NJ has been retained by the County to construct the project, and weather permitting, anticipates starting demolition of the existing bridge the week of December 7, 2015. Construction will generally take place between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Prior to demolition, you may notice equipment and materials being delivered to the site.

The Project generally includes the complete demolition of the existing bridge and installation of a new single span arch bridge, including installation of permanent steel sheet pile walls, replacement of existing concrete curb and sidewalk, installation of storm sewer improvements, reconstruction of roadway approaches and associated roadway improvements. The initial work will consist of the demolition of the existing bridge and installation of permanent and temporary steel sheet piles.

Please note that colored paint and flags may be appearing along the roadway and sidewalk. These marks indicate the presence of important underground utilities. Please do not move these flags or attempt to remove the marks.

Every effort will be made to minimize any inconvenience during construction. The County’s Consulting Engineer, CME Associates, will have representatives in the area while the work takes place. If you have any questions or comments, do not hesitate to approach one of these representatives or to contact Mr. Jason Nizolek of CME Associates at 732-727-8000 ext. 1280.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation during these improvements.

Why is it taking years for work to begin on the bridge by Mater Dei, on Cherry Tree Farm Rd?

Since the County is responsible for bridge repairs more than likely they haven't budgeted for them just yet.

Cherry Tree Farm Rd is in the budget. They announced it 3-4 years ago. It took until this past October to go out for a bid and still no announcement on when construction will begin.
