EXIT: The Last New Jersey Drive-In

Ah, I remember it well; the old Hazlet Drive-in. The times that I had, the movies that I watched and the friends that were made while hanging at the play-ground or drinking beers in the back lot.... Good times!

Here's a short documentary posted on YouTube by Sean O'Leary, "... chronicling the closing night of the Route 35 Drive-In in Hazlet, NJ. At the time of filming in 1991, it was the last operating drive-in theater in the state."

I remember my parents wound up taking us to some really age-inappropriate films because there were no ratings in those days, so I saw Lighthouse at the Edge of the World when I was just what, 7 or something? Bottoming out your car on the ridges, trying to find a speaker that worked, the over cooked black hot dogs in a bag, watching the movie in the '64 Chevy with the top down. Good times.
