Here it comes?.... its already here with the new assessments coming out on your property and dwelling I was told my taxes are going from $6250.00 to $10,500.00 for next tax period. Go on any home selling web site and see how many homes are up for sale in Middletown people are moving out of this area because they can not afford it anymore. so people left here will not be able to afford there mortgages going up or tax escrow going up and there pay not going up.

Anon 8:45 AM -

You couldn't have been told how much your taxes will be in the next billing period - no one knows that amount until they reach a new tax rate in July.

I agree that property taxes are extremely high, but that's all over NJ, not just in Middletown. Try living in Tinton Falls - I wanted to, but couldn't afford it. Taxes are high all over - blame the schools.
