Letter: A More Fairer Society

The expressed opinions or views of this letter does not necessarily represent the opinion of the MiddletownMike blog:

Dear Editor,

New Jersey should amend the state constitution to establish a right to free housing, free post-secondary education, free public transportation, free healthcare and prescriptions, monthly income support for all parents, public financing for full-time artists and a right to four weeks paid vacation per year.

Big corporations and the wealthy should be taxed to cover the needs of the people.

Such investment in our society and culture would give way to great things and our state could become a leader in the country with a fairer, more humane and democratic system.

Are you high? if we tax big business to pay for all these things big business will leave the state. What's next build a big fence around the state to keep big business and citizens in?

Norway has a 27% corporate income tax and yet their economy is doing better than New Jersey.

These should be basic rights of living in a first world nation. Whenever the government chooses to spend money on something like an ilegal war, bank bailout or hooking up officials with fat salaries, pensions and benefits the money is always there. its time the citizens take what is theirs from the Christie set who thinks our society's wealth belongs to them personally. Look at his brother Todd Christie, who is a Wall Street Con Artist that saw all his co-workers indicted.
