Middletown Storm Advisory 12/8/14

This is a message from Middletown Emergency Management.

Weather forecasters are predicting a Nor’easter will affect this area Monday night (12/8/14) through Wednesday (12/10/14). Minor coastal flooding especially at times of high tide, high winds and periods of heavy rain are expected. Please note that tides are also being impacted by the recent full moon.

Upcoming high tides as follows (times approximate):


  • Monday night 9:15pm
  • Tuesday: 9:30am and 10pm
  • Wednesday 10:15am and 10:45pm

Please take all necessary precautions. Do not leave your vehicle at a location that is prone to tidal flooding. Move vehicles to higher ground.

The township may close some roads due to flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flood waters. Water maybe deeper than you think. You will be putting yourself in danger and your vehicle may be damaged, leading to costly repairs.

Please do not move barricades from roadways or drive on flooded streets. This will be enforced by Police.

Most people living in flood areas have a tide chart posted on their refrigerator. If we did not speak up and tell township officials, they would never be posting alerts like this. The reminder is appreciated.
