Does Middletown's former Mayor, Tony Fiore have an issue with women? He certainly "Liked" this picture that was posted to his Facebook page on Sept. 14th.
For a pompous politician who is up for reelection this year, you'd like to think he'd be a little more careful about his image and what he'd allowed others to publicly post or share with others on his social media accounts, let alone agree with what's posted with a thumbs-up Facebook "Like".
Below is a screenshot of the offensive post to Tony Fiore's Facebook page. The only editing I did to the picture was to delete the individuals name and picture who posted it to Tony's page. Notice that Tony "Liked" the picture.
UPDATE:
Evidently Middletown Township Committeeman Tony Fiore doesn't want anymore people trolling his Facebook page. As of this morning, his profile page has been deleted along with the many other offensive posts he condoned. I only wish that I had taken screenshots of some of those - MM 9/26/14
UPDATE:
I'm working on a follow up report to this post. To clear things up Tony Fiore's Facebook Page was not deleted. Instead of having his personal page open to the public as it was when this post first appeared, he has changed its settings and is now "Private". I and a few others have been "blocked" and can no longer see any updates posted to Facebook from Tony Fiore. Good for me I have pictures.... MM 9/30/14

Seriously?? It's a cartoon character and an annoying one at that. Stop with the smearing already.
so someone posts a picture on his facebook page about a college Quarterback's performance and he you equate that he condones violence on women? Great try Mike. You need to do better.
My guess is the two Anonymous twins who posted above are both men. Just a guess. And the fact that neither of them sees anything wrong with this, and that they are supporters of Fiore, just reaffirms the Mike's reasons for bringing this to light in the first place.
So Committeeman Fiore has a problem with women but the above poster won't support him and Republicans because he wouldn't fight against an All Girls school. Ironic. Who is really has a woman problem?
Fiore has never had good judgement about people. His vicious verbal attacks on opponents at election time and his willingness to engage in character assassination rather then issue based campaigning surely tells the public something about his character or lack thereof. He only needs to look in the mirror to find the flawed republican candidate!
This attitude portrayed here is typical of the male chauvinistic nonsense espoused by the current
republican breed of political punks in this country today. It's like a rabid disease.
They will come to regret the nonsense when the women in this country send a great deal of them into political oblivion !
This is character assasination at its best. From the looks of this it is extremely taken out of context. I know the guy and he is happily married and has two daughters. I'm pretty sure he doesn't advocate against women.
Not even remotely as ironic, Committeeman Fiore, as your deleting your private facebook page, as Mike mentions in his Update. Just the sheer fact that your private and public personas are at such polar opposites, as witnessed by your public profile page, which still exists, and your private page, which is now gone, should give every voter pause at the polls in November.
Mike you loved it when a Booker worker sent the "Jeff Bell can suck it" email.
Anon 11:44
Yes, I did enjoy it. the Bell email was from a overzealous campaign intern who got caught up in the moment. The email was never intended for the public to see, it was an internal memo that unfortunately was CC'd to another by mistake. The person who sent the email was reprimanded by the Booker campaign and reassigned.
Fiore condoned this picture and is now stating that the picture never exsisted, that I made it all up. But yet he deleted his personal Facebook page to cover it up.
I ask you who has more integrity, the Booker campaign for meeting the email incident head on and taking action or Tony Fiore for denying that the picture was posted yo his page and then deleting the page to cover it up?
I am friends with him on Facebook. He still has a personal account. You may have been blocked by him so that you can't continue to view his page
Chris Smith is also married with children, yet he consistently votes against the rights of women.
I don't have a face book and aren't that familiar with it. The people who have been promoting violence against women are the feminist and liberals. If women and men are the same and should be treated exactly the same, for example both genders being in combat why is hitting a woman worse than hitting a man???
Margie,
I'm the first commenter. Last time I looked I was, indeed, a woman, and no, not a twin. So your guess is incorrect. I don't see anything wrong with Charlie Brown - a CARTOON CHARACTER - lumping up Lucy Van Pent, also a CARTOON CHARACTER - because they are CARTOON CHARACTERS. Drawn by Charles Schultz. Not real. A cartoon referring to a sporting event, passed around and shared on Facebook by many people. In case you don't use Facebook let me clue you in: when somebody posts something to your wall you acknowledge it by "liking it". I don't believe for a second that by liking this cartoon Tony Fiore is gonna go out and kick a woman in the head. If YOU believe that then I can't help you. Good luck with that.
Mike,
It is sad that you have such trouble with comprehending the fact that this is a CARTOON that was used to play fun at the fact that Gary Nova didn't play a college game well.
Tony Fiore is a happily married man with two daughters that he loves dearly. The fact that you think him "liking" some post on his FB page links him to having women issues is not only wrong, its delusional. I always knew you had a few screws loose!
It isn't just the Dems finding fault with this stupid s--t,it's everyone.... the republican
punk politicians that think a difference in genitals give the male species special privileges revolts the rest of a civilized population !!!
If Fiore has any brains he should have known better and since he didn't, his judgement as a committeeman in Middletown is questioned. Foolish conduct.
NONE OF THIS IS FUNNY !!!!!
Posting or liking this cartoon on a public page shows a horrid lack of judgment. For someone raising TWO girls, I'm surprised he doesn't see the horrible subtext in this cartoon. Novo played horribly so "put a dress on him."? Wow- way to demean women! In this day and age you simply DON'T say a bad player "plays like a girl." Moreover, I feel that any cartoon depicting violence against women is distasteful- particularly amidst all the recent cases of domestic abuse in the sports world.
To the "woman" who addressed me directly... honey, if you think Schulz would even remotely want to be associated with this abomination of his original strip, you, darling, are sorely mistaken.
This is not a cartoon, so much as a statement. And there is no law that says you must acknowledge everything posted to your wall. If I were running for office, and someone put this on my page, I would delete it. In fact, I would delete it regardless.
If you were one of the "many" people who shared it, or if you can see some justification in the depiction of male-female relationship as shown in this illustration, then I echo your sentiment: Good luck to you, as it seems, like Mr Fiore, all your taste is in your mouth.
i will say this when some one posts anonymously they are either scared of the truth or have an agenda.like thieves in the night come in drop your little Gmelich bombs break a few windows and skulk back off into the darkness as cowards do. So please don't even talk about smearing! come into the light frikken vampires!!!
Matthew, there is a third reason: fear of retaliation for free speech comments by the Republican TC for their political agenda. Liking on Facebook is an acknowledgement that you like, agree with, the post, not just a recognition that you have read it!!
Speaking of retaliation, this TC has a reputation for intimidation and character assassination of those who have the courage to disagree with them.
Just attend a TC meeting and watch the conduct of the five of them and their mouthpiece. Disgusting !!
Have to agree, it is offensive and not a likeable post. Does he have any daughters? He is not the brightest bulb out there, ya know.
How right about not being the brightest bulb out there but he marches well to the Carton commands .
Doesn't seem to know the difference between right or wrong !!!

Chug A Beer Challenge...
Now here's a cause and challenge I can really get behind!

The chug a beer challenge to strike out PMS. By Marc Butler - hat tip to Mike Fitzgerald
Posted by Michael Morris at 3:52 PM
Anon 10:45,
My chugga beer challenge post does not advocate violence against women.
I've often suffered the wrath of my wife during her "time of the month" and I advocate for any cause that could elevate both of our suffering during those trying times.
It's a worthy cause for all involved.
