WASHINGTON, DC— In this week’s address, President Obama said that the housing market is starting to heal, and now it’s time to build on that progress by creating a better bargain for responsible, middle class homeowners. The President announced steps he will take to strengthen the housing market, and now Congress must act to help make homeownership a source of pride and middle class security for generations to come.

"Middletown Mike"?
I used to visit here to find out what was happening in town. That is what made this place unique and interesting. IMHO there is nothing unique or interesting in reading the same articles that can be found in any newspaper in the state.
I Googled the first sentence from this article and got 80,000 hits about the same thing.
I thought you had a good thing going when the topics were local but state level and national level political blogs are a dime a dozen. I learned quite a bit about the workings of this town from your blog in the past. I don't know how what other people think about it but I would prefer to see more things about Middletown from "Middletown Mike".
Anon 9:18,
Thanks for your comment and feedback.
Allow me to say I understand your concerns and feelings but understand, just about everything I post on this blog has and impact on the lives of people that live in Middletown either directly or indirectly. Just because the posts of late have been "less" local doesn't mean that they are less relevant to life in Middletown.
Also, to be honest,I've been under major time constrains of late and while there has been a couple of issues that have been floating around of late like the Library and the BOE , there hasn't been much going on that warrants in depth commentary. I promise however, that that will change soon so don't give up checking out the blog just yet.
Mike, be honest, posts haven't been "less" local, by definition they haven't been local at all.
Sure, things happening on a national level impact everyone but there is nothing local about it.
Whatever, it's your blog. It just seems that you are so wrapped up in the bigger political picture that you have lost your focus on Middletown lately and for me the blog has nothing to offer that I can't find many other places.
Anon 9:52,
I understand where your coming from but lets agree to disagree.
Frank Pallone has represented Middletown in Congress for 22 years, I post most of his press releases because there is a misnomer perpetuated by those that occupy Town Hall that Pallone is an ineffectual congressman and has done little to help Middletown. That is not true, he has done plenty to help Middletown residents in his district and along Middletown's bayshore.
And at the moment the special senate election and the upcoming gubernatorial election are big news and can't be ignored. Christies has spent considerable time in Middletown over the past 4 years (rumor has it he was in town 2 weeks ago at a Gerry Scharfenberger fundraiser), so anything that happens in that race has local impact.
And finally, I've posted every presidential weekly address for the past 4+ years and I will continue to do so because a vast majority of people never see it anywhere else.
BTW Mike,
Is there's anything less news worthy than the current Middletown scene ?
Same ole, same ole hyperbole and deception from Town Hall. Some things never change.
You're right, Mike, this senatorial election is important...it will be very important for a long time to come.
