The Bamm Hollow developer's approved sewer infrastructure project will create additional system capacity near Avaya, the site of the proposed Four Ponds development.
The sewer project involves extending a new force main from Emory pumping station to Fairview pumping station. The new system design will relieve capacity at Jumping Brook pumping station near Avaya. Use of the Jumping Brook pumping station will be cut in half, thus doubling capacity there, where Jumping Brook is currently at full capacity.
Emory pumping station is in need of repair, the Bamm Hollow project aside. The developer will replace the pipe needing repair.
The Bamm Hollow developer will receive a portion of the fees for new sewer hook-ups at Jumping Brook as “fair share” reimbursement.
This information was discussed recently at Middletown Sewerage Authority board meetings.

This expansion, by the developer, will help with the backups that happen on Jumping Brook Rd. It is no wonder that sewerage was backing up from the existing system. It was over loaded.
Nice to see TOMSA getting the developer to fix their problems. The developer should get some of the new hook up fees. After all, they are hooking up with TOMSA.
I hope TOMSA does not have to issue bonds to finance this project. Every year they hand over a lot of money to the TC so they can balance their budget. It is a shell game they play with our money, a hidden property tax on the taxpayer. TOMSA should either build up a reserve for such projects or lower our sewer fees, better yet do both.
approved the sewer for "proposed development" cart before the horse...approval before the approval. going to be hello. so much for a once great place to live.
