Tonight there's another Middletown Township Committee meeting taking place down at Town Hall, but before that meeting takes place I need to post the video from the last Committee meeting that took place on last month.
At that meeting a proclamation was presented to the Oklahoma Baptist Disaster Relief group. The group set up a relief station in the parking lot of Saint Mary's School across from the New Monmouth Baptist Church. They cooked thousands of meals for those displaced by Hurricane Sandy and the many volunteers that helped in the recovery effort after the storm.
They were a God send and the proclamation was well deserved.
The Public Comment portion of the meeting starts around the 32 minute mark of the video and shouldn't be missed. Besides the many comments that pertained to Hurricane Sandy and its aftermath, a very heated discussion took place regarding the Library budget and the possible closing of neighborhood branches, with the Township Committee stating they have no influence over the Library budget process.
It was explained that it is the responsibility of the Library Director and the Library Board, which the Township Committee appoints, to form and adopt that budget.
As always, you can download a copy of the meeting agenda that contains the discussion items and the proposed resolutions and ordinances that were voted on or presented during the meeting. A box around an item is a link, bringing you further into the document to that resolution or ordinance. At the end of the resolution there will be a link bringing you back to the agenda. Attached to this agenda is also the monthly bill list, so that everyone can see how the Township is spending our tax dollars.
