Pallone Announces FEMA grants for Emergency Response Services after Hurricane Sandy

LONG BRANCH, NJ – Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-06) today announced three Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) grants to reimburse the New Jersey Department of Human Services for expenses related to relief efforts during the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. In total, the state will receive approximately $29 million for expenses incurred to support disaster operations.

FEMA will pay New Jersey $22.785 million to cover the full costs of accommodating 8,000 out-of-state utility workers in emergency response camps for the two weeks following the Hurricane (October 30th through November 14th). Additionally, FEMA will pay 75 or percent, $4.4 million, of the costs associated with housing out-of-state relief workers for the period from November 15th through the17th, and more than $1.8 million to cover the expense of accommodating the 500 staff members that operated the Monmouth Racetrack Care Shelter.

“As we continue our recovery in New Jersey, FEMA funding is critical to ensuring we have the recourses needed to build back our state after the devastation of Hurricane Sandy,” said Pallone. “The emergency workers who set up in New Jersey immediately after the storm played a crucial role in the effort to relive the post-Sandy humanitarian crisis and working with the utilities to mitigate dangerous conditions from fallen power lines and gas leaks. “I look forward to working with FEMA as we continue the recovery from Sandy and help rebuild New Jersey from the storm.”

Its funny how you say I am far right and have no brains. Last time I checked you nor I have said what our names were. I am not far right , I am however a local Emergency responder who volunteers my time to help others and all we ever see is lip service like " without you we would have been worse" Thank you for all you have done." I personally do not want a dime, what I want is Emergency Services who are funded adequately (not overfunded) to tackle emergencies when they happen. Not one place in the article was there a mention of local Fire,EMS getting any money. Like I said just another foney Baloney politician needing publicity.

Frank Pallone has tried to keep the public informed and that's more than what can be said of some other "public servants" and the time has come to recognize that fact and stop BITCHING about him solely because he's a Democrat.
The republicans in Middletown have IGNORED the Bayshore ( except when their votes are needed) and it takes an emergency to get the republicans attention!

It always takes a crisis to get any kind of concern going for those really in need instead of the politicians who operate here, true of both sides of the isle and the BS artists who operate in this area.

Hypocisy is your mantra Annonymous 12/5 @ 12:59 p.m. All mouth and no brains when fairness is called for !!!

Anon 12/10 @ 1:02,

From your initial comment "Foney Baloney Palloney" you clearly indicate your prejudicial attitude. Since when is it Frank Pallone's responsibility to serve all "emergency responders in this state"? I believe he serves in the coastal Monmouth County area and does a pretty good job of that. Maybe your bitch is with the Gov.of New Jersey or your local, municipal representatives.

Quit while you can because I read very well and you should stop making excuses when you make a mistake. There's nothing partisan about the damage from the Sandy Storm,That storm did not discriminate along party lines. It hurt everybody in it's path !!

Quit while I am ahead? YOU CAN'T READ because I asked to answer a question and you can't even do that. And the title was FEMA GRANTS FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES AFTER HURRICANE SANDY. Again you failed to read that , you simply read my comment and thought here is a punk I can pick on. Whatever your right I am every name you called me. Your political views were expressed not mine.

YOU SPOKE LIKE A PUNK WHEN YOU WERE CRITICAL OF FRANK PALLONE FOR NO GOOD REASON. NONE AT ALL....NONE!

NOBODY CALLED YOU A PUNK but maybe you are because you behave like one !
There is no other good explanation for your criticism of the congressman and you don't like being called on it. BTW no called you names, just stated you exhibit "too much mouth and no brains"! You invited the criticism.
