Trenton, NJ – On Thursday at 1:00 PM a group of health reform advocates from the NJ For Health Care coalition, joined by Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6) and a small business owner from the Main Street Alliance, will hold a conference call to discuss the Supreme Court decision on President Obama’s health reform law. The Supreme Court is expected to release its decision shortly after 10:00 AM. Updated data on how the decision will be impact New Jersey, in terms of affected people and federal funding, will be released shortly after 10:00 AM by NJ Policy Perspective and discussed on the call.
Jeff Brown, Policy and Communications Coordinator for NJ Citizen Action, said: “We hope the Supreme Court does the right thing and upholds the entire law, which is already having a profoundly positive impact on New Jersey. Seniors get help paying for prescription drugs, young adults can stay on their parent’s health plans, and women and children are protected from discrimination. We’ve gone too far to turn back now.”
The NJ For Health Care coalition is a broad coalition of over 70 organizations, representing over 2 million members, who fought for the passage of the Affordable Care Act and have continued to fight for quality, affordable health care for all. NJ Citizen Action and NJ Policy Perspective, founding members of the coalition, will be joined by a small business owner from the Main Street Alliance, a group of over one thousand small businesses in New Jersey who support the Affordable Care Act, and Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr. (NJ-6), who has been an out-spoken champion for health reform in the United States House of Representatives.
