Shore Flicks Presents Free Summer Movie Series in Middletown

Shore Flicks is excited to announce the schedule for its 2012 Free Summer Movie Series, which includes 60 nights of movies in 19 towns throughout Monmouth County.

This year's series, which features family classics as well as recent releases, kicks off on June 14 at Harbor Park in Atlantic Highlands with a screening of The Muppets. Towns participating in this summer's series are Red Bank, Middletown, Atlantic Highlands, Holmdel, Hazlet, Keyport, Fair Haven, Tinton Falls, Ocean, Eatontown, Oceanport, Manalapan, Marlboro, Matawan, Howell, Neptune, Spring Lake, Allenhurst, and Asbury Park (in conjunction with the Asbury Park Film Initiative). Most towns have three movies scheduled over the course of the summer, while the schedules in Asbury Park and Red Bank have expanded to a six-movie series. This summer's movie line-up includes returning favorites such as Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and Ghostbusters as well as new additions like Zookeeper and Hugo.

“Our goal is to bring back the outdoor family movie experience by echoing the nostalgic feel of the drive-in movie theater, which was invented in New Jersey,” says Shore Flicks owner TJ Brustowicz.

Movies begin about 30 minutes after sundown and are shown on Shore Flicks' 16' screen.

At each movie night Shore Flicks will be collecting non-perishable food items to be distributed to food banks and pantries throughout the area, aiming to surpass last year's total of 1000 pounds of food collected. This year, the Shore Flicks Free Summer Movie Series will also support two local charities, Clean Ocean Action and Kick Cancer Overboard. In addition, during the series, Shore Flicks will showcase the music video “Kindness Boomerang,” produced by the non-profit organization Life Vest Inside. Shot in downtown Red Bank, “Kindness Boomerang” illustrates the broader impact of one random act of kindness, according to Brustowicz.

Thanks to generous sponsorships from local businesses, Shore Flicks is able to provide the movies at no charge to either the towns or the audiences. Sponsors this year include Jersey Central Power and Light, Saker ShopRites, TD Bank, NY Waterway, Cold Stone Creamery, Wawa, Provident Bank, iCIMS, Keyport-IHOP, The Devon Group, Connelly-Campion-Wright Insurance Agency, Lincroft Village Dental Care, Carpets With A Twist, Colonial American Bank, the Law Offices of Jonathan F. Marshall, Langosta Lounge, Colonial Terrace Golf Course, Two River Theater Company, Starland Ballroom, Currents Magazine, and radio station WRAT (95.9 The Rat).

Winner of the 2011 Asbury Park Press Reader's Choice Award for Best Free Entertainment, Shore Flicks has been providing the best in outdoor movie entertainment in Monmouth County and throughout New Jersey since 2007. Shore Flicks works with schools, camps, businesses and organizations to create outdoor movie events, from fundraisers to client appreciation events.
