Santa is Coming To Poricy ParkSunday December 11, 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm
Poricy Park Conservancy located in Middletown, NJ, just heard that Santa is coming to the Park on Sunday, December 11, between 1:30pm and 2:30pm!!Everyone is so excited and ready for fun!! Preparations are under way to transform the Nature Center into a holiday wonderland. Children can take photos with Santa. Everyone can enjoy candy canes, hot chocolate, holiday music and meet Santa's Elves!
Sunday will be a full day for holiday events at the Park. It's the last day for the Annual Holiday Shop, full of handcrafted treasures. The hours for the Holiday Shop are 10am-4pm. At the close of the Shop, the drawing will take place announcing the winner of the handcrafted Queen Size Quilt donated by Rebecca's Reel Quilters of Poricy Park. All are welcome to participate in Nature's Wonderful Ornaments program, and create decorations using Mother Nature's offering and recycled items.
To pre-register for the day's events, call the Nature Center at 732-842-5966. Recommended donations are $5 per photo; regular program fees apply for the Nature's Wonderful Ornaments program. Tickets can still be purchased for the quilt drawing for $1 each and are available at the Nature Center.
Senior Center Holiday Program
Tues, December 13th 12:30-1:30 pm
Seniors are invited to enjoy a cheery program presented by students from the Leonardo Elementary School that will truly put you in the Christmas Spirit. Middletown's Senior Center, located at Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Road, welcomes residents 60 and older to become members. Special events, trips and weekly activities are offered throughout the year. Transportation is available to registered members by reservation. Events are held in the East Wing unless otherwise noted. Recycling Center Open Dec 27, 28 & Jan 3,4
The Kanes Lane Recycling Center will be OPEN on Tuesday & Wednesday December 27, 28 and January 3, 4 to accommodate residents who need to recycle cardboard, mixed paper and and other items after the Christmas and New Year's holidays.The Recycling Center is closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day. Regular operation hours will resume after January 4th. Hours are Thursday through Monday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Holiday Garbage and Recycling Collection Schedule
There will be no garbage collection Monday December 26, 2011. The next collection for residences with a Monday garbage collection will be Thursday December 29, 2011.There will be no garbage collection on Monday January 2, 2012. The next collection for residences with a Monday garbage collection will be Thursday January 5, 2012.
There will be no recycling collection on Monday December 26, 2011 and January 2, 2012. Recycling will be scheduled to be collected on the following day.
Holiday Toy Donation Drop-offs
The Middletown Social Services Department is accepting toy donations for Middletown Helps Its Own. The Social Services Office is located at Croydon Hall, 900 Leonardville Road. Hours are Monday- Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.The Middletown PBA is accepting toy donations for Middletown Helps Its Own and Jason's Dreams. Donations can be brought directly to the Police Desk, located at Town Hall, 1 Kings Highway at any time.
Homestead Rebate Update
The Middletown Tax Collection Office advises property owners that the state Homestead Benefit, for property tax year 2010, is being credited to the February 2012 tax quarter for applicable property owners. Adjusted February 2012 tax bills will be mailed on or before December 30, 2011. Please pay the adjusted amount shown on the bill by 4:00 pm February 10, 2012 to avoid interest charges.
