ISSUED Tuesday, August 11th, 2011 - Arrests do not indicate convictions
On August 10, 2011 at approximately 9:10 pm Patrolman Richard Fulham was on patrol in the area of the Lincroft McDonald’s when he observed a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Officer Fulham approached the vehicle at which point he detected the odor of raw Marijuana coming from inside the car.
Officer Fulham conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of Marijuana and the arrest of Sean Powers, age 19, from Monmouth Avenue in Navesink, NJ, for Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana. He was transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a court date.
On August 10, 2011 at approximately 6:30 pm Patrolman Christopher Dee and Patrolman Raymond Sofield of the Quality of Life Unit responded to the area of the 7-11 store located on Highway 35 to back up Patrolman Kevin Gardiner who had a vehicle stopped at that location. Upon arrival Officer Sofield detected a strong odor of raw Marijuana coming from inside the car.
The officers conducted an investigation which resulted in the recovery of Marijuana and Xanax pills from the vehicle and the arrests of Christopher Difilippo-Campbell , age 18, from Bayside Parkway in Middletown, NJ, Arthur Mathurin, age 19, from Abby Road in Middletown, NJ, and a 17 year old female juvenile from Port Monmouth, NJ.
All three subjects were transported to police headquarters where they were charged with Possession of under 50 Grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Unlawful Possession of Xanax, and Possession with the Intent to Distribute less than One Ounce of Marijuana. They were processed and released pending a court date.
On August 10, 2011 at approximately 9:00am Detective Laurence Schachtel arrested Sean Finley, age 19, from Cliffwood Avenue in Cliffwood, NJ, and Nickolas Scarpellino, age 18, from Matawan Avenue in Cliffwood, NJ, for two counts of Burglary and Theft. The arrests are a result of an investigation into car burglaries that occurred on Dorothy Court in Middletown.
Detective Schachtel had received information from Detective Lovallo of the Matawan Police Department who informed him that he had arrested the two subjects for committing car burglaries in Matawan and had recovered property belonging to the Middletown victims. Detective Schachtel conducted a follow up investigation which resulted in the arrests.
Both subjects were processed and were being held in the Monmouth County Correctional facility in Freehold, NJ, on $30,000.00 bail set by Judge Richard Thompson. Police are continuing their investigation into the two subjects who may be responsible for other car burglaries throughout the Middletown area.
On August 10, 2011 Detective Kelly Godley arrested Brian Miller, age 21, from Walnut Avenue in Red Bank, NJ for Burglary and Theft as a result of an investigation into a burglary that occurred at a residence on Garryford Drive on July 31, 2011 during which jewelry had been stolen.
Detective Godley conducted an investigation and discovered that Miller had sold some of the stolen jewelry at a local jewelry store. Detective Godley was able to recover some of the stolen items and return them to the victim.
Miller was processed and released pending a court date.
The Middletown Police report the arrests of the following subjects for various offenses:
Michael Pipicz, age 21, from Huddy Avenue in Highlands, NJ, arrested on August 10, 2011 by Patrolman Anthony Bumbico on two Contempt of Court warrants issued by the Middletown and Seaside Heights Municipal Courts. He was held on $1,139.00 bail.
Christopher Murison, age 24, from Navesink River Road in Middletown, NJ, arrested by Corporal James Keenan on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Butler Municipal Court. He was held on $500.00 bail.
Gozie Emele, age 22, from Tinton Avenue in Eatontown, NJ, arrested on August 10, 2011 by Corporal James Keenan on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Ocean Township Municipal Court. He was held on $500.00 bail.
Kevin Krilla, age 29, from Kings Highway East in Middletown, NJ arrested on August 10, 2011 by Lieutenant John Kaiser on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Carteret Municipal Court. He was released after posting $250.00 bail.
Martin Bifulco, age 26, from Aumack Avenue in Union Beach, NJ, arrested on August 10, 2011 by Patrolman Charles Higgins on a Civil Contempt warrant issued by the Monmouth County Superior Court. He was held on $7,750.00 bail.
Michele Intravaia, age 39, from Clinton Avenue in Middletown, NJ, arrested on August 10, 2011 by Detective Kimberly Best on a Contempt of Court warrant issued by the Middletown Municipal Court. She was released after posting $50.00 bail.
Shawn Rice, age 20, from Laurel Avenue in Keansburg, NJ, arrested on August 10, 2011 by Detective Laurence Schachtel for Failing to Register as a Sex Offender. He was released pending a court date.
