President Obama's Weekly Address 1/15/11: "Before We are Democrats or Republicans, We are Americans"

In this week’s address, President Obama said that once business resumes in Washington, he looks forward to working with members of both parties to meet the challenges facing the country. By working together in a spirit of common cause, the President and members of Congress can face these challenges in a way worthy of the voters who sent them to Washington.

Wow, we are all Amercians not Democrats or Republicans. When did this occur. Conservative Republicans were told to get in the back of the bus and get out of the way of the Democrats just last December. For the last two years people that respected our laws and looked for a balanced budget were ignored. In fact, the President pushed a health care bill that most Americans didn't want and know as it unfolds we see the waste in our economy and jobs! Even more people want the law repealed. After the November elections you are playing the role of a softer, gentiler moderate. However, your actions speaak louder than your words and people don't believe you. In fact we are hearing that you in fact are a liar and following a socialist agenda. And even of more concern the facts seem to bear that out. As my grand daddy used to say "actions speak louder than words"!

Spoken like a true tea-partier who gets too much of his news from Fox and ignores realities.

The health care bill is not a jobs killer and when fully implemented will reduce the federal deficit by some $300 billion over a twenty year period according to the bi-partisen CBO.

Over 70% of Americans that are polled are in favor of health care reform and the only ones clamouring against it are ultr conservatives and tea-partiers like yourself.

Obama spent the better part of two years reaching across the isle, each time he was rebuked by Republicans and rightfully earned the moniker of the Party of "No".

The Democrats finally did what was necessary and laid down the law - work with us or step aside.

Stan, do you really believe what you're saying? "the last 2 years people that respected our laws and looked for a balanced budget were ignored?" Those same people ignored the budget the previous 8 years.
The Health Care bill will ultimately save money. People now realize the government is not running our health care system. The propaganda has run its course, and the reality will be more clear as people realize the benefits.
The socialist agenda comments are also tiresome. Let me know if you want to give up your social security and medicare.
Actions do speak louder than words, and this president has done what he said he would do.
